I had to tell my family I'm under quarantine like an little kid for two weeks last night. They don't know if this is affliated with my battle over "Gout" recently or not. But I kow have medication for that also if I need it. Just that this stuff is painful and I can hardly lie down or sit..or whatever....I hope to trreat myself to an soda bath pretty soon. Everyone sounds cherry this morning. I'm now into listening to Christmas music also...watching some of the holiday shows. I don't know if I'll get my house decorated before Christmas is over though...time will tell and I am ever so thankful for getting those post cards sent out and gifts bought before we got smacked by snow and then this illness...it would of left me dangling with everything to do at once otherwise. Ron, ho[pe Anna's dad is OK and all is well. Saw another idea recently...this one is for those of you that like the fireplace look without the fireplace....you take three tall clear glass vases...and fill them 1/3 way with rocks...and then an candle...and behind them you put straight tiny limbs off tree branches...you need to trim them... so they have an tall "grass" kind of look...but then you spray paint them orangeish/rusty....kind of like fireplace embers would be if "glowing" hot....they should tower over the candles in size slightly also...now...the finish of this is putting battery operated small minilights that blink off an on between the candles and the tall straight limbs behind....and so when you turn them on they flicker against the orangish limbs and your all set...it looks like when you light the candles and turn on the minlights you have an snappy glowing fire going on ...mini-style. This can be set on any table,..in an" fake" mantel if need be also. It came form an decorator and the picture of this thing is superb as they show it in action. They chose an background wall that was darker an near the tree but set it on an side table....so one complements the other. My back is bothering me so I bettter get going for now. Talk later on and good to see everyone..... this must be going around...as I see they have a vaccine out for people over 50 for this ailment now. |

This morning there was no internet connection and from lunchtime onwards we had thunderstorms. Now I've managed to log in and my home page has changed. Grrrr. Anyway I wish you all a wonderful day for what is left of it. I do hope you make a very speedy recovery Shirley, shingles can be very painful and itchy, so I hope you have got a very mild dose. I have received your cards in the large envelope - they are wonderful. Thank you so very much for such kindness and thoughtfulness. |

Aren't they lovely though...would make nice Post cards too! I just started collecting all my angels and white flowers around the house here yesterday and started putting things together for Christmas decorations. Couldn't take this sitting to much more. Last night I watched an Hallmark TV movie also geared toward Christmas..it was something different...kind of down home stuff in ways...people being caught in an small town during an snowstorm and finding the spirit of sharing at Christmas...making friends. Kind of brings an tear to the eye in the end feeling the "Love" they have amoung each other....reminder of the way things should be everyday. Need to take the time to find it. Thanks on the speedy recovery...most welcomed on that one!!! Saturday is our local food drive with the Scouts...my grandson and his grandfather will be there doing it.. as was my son years before them with his dad. It stays local also from what I understand. We collected 750 pounds in years before but we haven't been doing it the last two years...but still..each item counts and everyone is collecting to help each other these days. I have been giving food as "gifts" to my family to help them out for several years now...off an on. It's getting to needing it myself some days now...but I'm far from going hungry...just don't have the "pantry" I use to have in days of yore. Our society is learning to be thankful for things these days they before took for granted. |

Listening to this terrorist "kid" on Tv recently airing how he felt about things...you could tell he'd been "brain-washed'.. and none of it was individualized independent "thinking". I wonder whm he ran into to come up with it all...was very "programmed" statements in general. At 19..he's facing the rest of his life in prison..and to think what he might of done the other night is chilling and in-humane to kill thousands of mostly little innocent kids...they are not the subject of the world's problems...not innocent liitle kids under the age of five years old for the most part. But anyway... |

Shingles is quite common over here and I certainly know plenty of people who have suffered as a result. Anna's dad is progressing well, looks better tonight, although low blood pressure and temperature is a bit of a concern. |
