No fatailites...it tore the heck out of several blocks, two buildings, and many trees up rooted and roofs gone...the Red Cross is there tonight to house those that need it. These "cells" going through right now are scarey to me...and my hubby's with scouts tonight...massive red storm cell centers with outter yellow bands to them, I think they are to die down tonight and hope so. We don't have storm cellars for tornadoes out here,,we seldom need them. So if I can talk people through Florida's Hurricanes in the pas on-line...whom wants to talk me though this mess of weather right now. I mean it's looking an bit to late for John Lennon assistence..".I wanna hold your hand". Yikes!

(Did you try whistling "A Happy Tune"). There is some strange weather happening around the world at the moment, but hopefully it will sort itself out and go back to normal before long. |

My resident squirrel is out there today eating apples left over in the tree in our backyard, and looking quite content. We had one bad cell went through and then it kind of cleared up last night for some reason. I imagine people willlbe out looking at Christmas lights tonight if they get the chance before more rain comes here in an day or so. You put up an pretty snappy looking tree Cathy. Do you have your Christmas Wreath on the back side of your car for the Holidays...since you have better weather where your at then I do here...that was quite the thing an couple years ago in California for thier convertibles at Christmas....top down to see the Christmas light displays. People here like to rent "limo's" and Party through in them... at the Portland International Raceway Light display. Long line of cars, so it gives you an chance to party with your guests in the car. You could probably google the site and see what I'm talking about. |

Glad you are ok SK....been there...done this....don't want to do it again....take care ...I like your idea of Christmas in California...but am used to Christmas in Wisconsin/Michigan....and I do love snow.... |

We haven't put up our tree yet because I like to wait until the grandchildren are around so that they can do it and decorate the room - they love that. So they will be here from tomorrow for 5 days, making gifts and wrapping paper and cards and decorations, and lots of other activities, so the tree will be up shortly. Lol |

I had two very close encounters with tornadoes when I was a child. The first was at my aunt's farm in the Irish Hills of southeastern Michigan, a region that is a regular tornado alley! We had to quickly move to her root cellar as the tornado was bearing down on us--it put a crack all the way through her house! The second time was truly frightening--we were driving home in the farm country north of Detroit in very stormy weather when everything went intensely dark and quiet. Then, all hell broke loose! Looking out of the windshield of the car, we could see the tornado funnel crossing the road ahead of us and tearing up everything in its path and there was no time to even react. I had nightmares about that encounter for years afterward--I think that it was the blackest black I will ever see! |

This aunt and uncle use to be invited to the Presidental Innaguaration when it was going onin year's past...so it seemed "everyone" was there to help them. I was nearly in one as an child also...it more or less spun us around throwing bricks and debris at us on the road and was very short lived, but stripped the asphalt clean off the road ahead of us...this was also in Nebraska. I remeber being spun around with an lot of mud on the windows and coming to an stand still at the side of the road. Kids always make an good tree you see, I guess I "knew" that kind of spiritually perhaps. |
