Ok...Inmates ring in the New Year with an riot...this happened at an low security prison near London, causing several fires to consume out buildings and was caused at the Ford prison when inmates refused to take alcohol breathe tests forced on them...apparently large amounts of illicit alchohol was also found. It iinvolved about 40 immates..out of 150 at the facilty. There was no immediate reports of injuries to staff or prisoners. This column makes several statements as to displinary measures will be taken against those responsbile. On the back page we have an picture of an Russian passenger jet on fire with it's tail up in the air..says 43 were hurt trying to scramble out of the plane and three were killed...carrying 124 people down an snowy ru way in Siberia..it appears the fire started in an engine mounted over the rear of the of the plane and eventually there was an explosion..as it taxied down the runway for take off...its center evetually becoming an huge fireball. The scramble for life came when only one exit was operating. Then of course the tornadoes in the United states in Missiouri,,which has resorted into 7 victims and state of emergency with about 300 homes simply wipped off the map of existence. Headlines...For an nation with only one gun shop...Mexico has no shortage of weapons.....Man arrested in fatal downtown Portland Club shooting(New Years Celebration)....Terror watch list easier to get on....Plane loses radio contact sends fighter jets scrambling in Washington D. C....speaker of the house taking his new office is asking Congress to start facing the facts on our debts like adults and start dealing with it..its not going away ignoring it....finally America's civil right's leaders move from the streets to online with "twitter" to promote thier cause..then we have various bombings throughout the world..they include Egypt, Nigeria, Afghanistan border to name an few in the first four pages of our local newspaper. This year did not end on quiet peaceful news by an means. |
