It doesn't make any sense at all to raise interest rates just because the rate of inflation is rising (slowly) compared to other economies. Had the Government not increased VAT we wouldn't be seeing inflation rising anyway, so who is to blame? Take the 1.6% out of the inflation figure caused by the VAT increase and the Government is virtually back on track, so why are they doing it? The only people that get rich are the greedy bankers who keep on paying themselves obscene amounts of money, whilst ripping us off when they lend us (businesses or otherwise) money that we can't then afford to pay back. It means they make more money by keeping the pressure on the very people who baled them out of the mess that they caused in the first place! Businesses fold and guess who sells them for a pittance? They'll normally sell the businesses and/or our homes for just enough to clear the debt owed to the bank, and then who buys them? Yes you guessed it those with the money who eventually rent them out to the people who owned them in the first place. All that does is add another family to the beneits queue who will ultimately cost us all because by now the jobs are gone, nobody can afford to buy the goods in the shops, more businesses go bust and hey, were back to going to the bank for a loan on which they will make more money and .....yeah! Disgusting!!! If rates do increase in the near future it will put immense pressure on the 'younger generation' who are already struggling to look after the kids and pay the bills, let alone the increase in mortgage payments! I believe I send a clear message to David Cameron from Mr & Mrs Average in the UK. Get things sorted for the people of THIS COUNTRY or after 5 years of hammering us you will merely hand the job back to labour! STOP GIVING OUR MONEY AWAY AND GET A GRIP OF WHAT PEOPLE ARE SUFFERING!

Can Steph or anyone involved in a small business let us know if they are better off as a result of the change? |
