We were listening to the radio when the first announcement came through. I remember being stunned when I heard it and then being absolutely terrified when I heard that the Pentagon had been targeted also. I thought, what next? |

We thought it was just an unfortunate accident. Then the other hit and we knew something was wrong. Then the panic hit! My ex hubby came to my job because we wanted to pick up Sammie from school. He went but they wouldn't let the kids out! He came back and he was sobbing!!! Also, we couldn't contact anyone by cell phones and calls were coming into work with people panicking!! All TV's were on and we were glued to them. We were so afraid since we were only 30-40 mins from NYC. To this day, Samantha has a fear of planes flying overhead. Sad. |

I heard about the mass murder 2 months later. When i saw the footage about a week later my views on carpet bombing changed completely. Edited by: Dennis Bailey at:30th January 2011 21:12 |

It was coming in very faint, so we turned on the TV (not something we do in the morning). The horror of what we saw just stopped us dead in our tracks. I had to go to work, though I felt numb. Luckily, our small town came ot a standstill and I was sent home. I went to Ground Zero on my trip to NYC last year. I cried! |

Our receptionists two sons had been visiting the States and the 'towers' the Saturday before it happened. There were many Brits killed in there, Tony Blair our PM Flew over to be with the Clintons and Her majesty Queen Elizabeth ll had her Military band play the 'Stars & stripes' for our American visitors outside the Palace. |
