My boss at the time lived across the river from NYC and could see where the towers were and all the smoke from the site. It's still haunting.


The train was underground so I didn't see the smoke at the Pentagon but a friend who worked nearby saw it.  I now ride a commuter bus that makes a stop at the Pentagon so I think of it every time we pull in there.
