I thought it high time we had a positive list. What makes you feel good? What gives you pleasure? Just remember this is a family site!!! ;) For me a hug does a lot. Flowers, bright pretty spring flowers on a rainy day can brighten up my world. A puppy or a kitten that gives you unconditional love. Children's laughter. The sunshine. A box of chocolates! When someone thinks of me. The thing that makes me feel the best is the joy I get from giving to others whether it be a gift, an ear, a hug or even just a smile to brighton their day. |

Yes, I agree, with all the rotten stuff going on, it's almost essential to take a deep breath and count your blessings, mostly the little things. I love to get up early and sit outside when the air is pink. We've had some gorgeous sunrises and sunsets here this winter and seeing them always gives me a lift. I recently had a little medical test and everything came out OK, but I know it's because I had so much support from others who care. I didn't fret for a moment. The prayers of friends do so much to give you peace. I'm a firm believer that you create your own world, whether happy or sad, by conscious choice. Every day that you CHOOSE to be joyful, despite what's going on around you means YOU are in control of your circumstances, not the other way around. It isn't easy, and for me at least, takes a lot of faith in God, and He provides support through the people in your life. I know you are a woman of faith, and just the fact that the place in your soul where joy resides comes to the surface when you're giving to others, regardless of your own circumstances, indicates a strength of spirit that will overcome ANY obstacle. You are precious and I feel privileged to know you. God bless, Cathy and thanks for starting this thread.

I love the countryside. Pure nature. Trees, grass, rivers, birds, wild animals, dirt, flowers, plants, rain, sunshine. Also my family. My husband, my sons, my mother in law, my sisters in laws (five of them). My friends. New friends, and friends I've known and loved, and who have loved me for many, many years. Life really can be good, in spite of all the horrors around us. Wonderful thread, Cathy. |

I think the most joy is found in the little things as the ladies have mentioned above. And from counting your blessings (yeah we all have them, lol) Have you a roof over your head? have you food on your table? have you clothes for your back? do you have family and friends? Do people care about you? Can you walk? I am sure you can think of lots more to be grateful you have, cos that is all you really need! and don't worry about what you don't have. |
