We have too many here too, James.  I probably should have left it to its fate.  We have 2 species of native doves here - mourning and whitewing, and the Eurasians are wreaking havoc on the habitat.  We also have wild peach-faced lovebirds all over that are displacing natives.  I took pictures of them yesterday in my back yard tree.  The Eurasians and the peaches are awfully pretty birds though.

Must have been fun to have an aviary.  I typically have a one bird aviary once or twice a year thanks to Russ.  It's usually the whitewing fledges that he catches, but they're not here yet.  They winter in Mexico and Central America.

We have mourning doves, which winter here, and cactus wrens, curved billed thrashers, Gila woodpeckers, house finches and the typical urban birds - pigeons, grackles and starlings.  If we're lucky this time of year, we may see a vermillion flycatcher.  But they typically hang around the parks rather than the neighborhoods.
