Wasn't around today to see, but most daytimes seem to be quiet on POE at the moment.  Probably because Spring is in the Air - at least in your neck of the woods up North, and everyone is getting out and about again!

We are definitely close to Autumn, starting to be a bit of a nip in the air in the early mornings and evenings.  Winter is on its way.  Brrrr

Hi Shirley:

I think the only one I can answer is the second, but not being from Old Blighty, I could be wrong.  I think back in the medieval days, like the 11th, 12th centuries, people gained their titles by supporting some monarch in battle.  So they were "good deeds" depending on whose point of view.  The monarch who benefited saw them as good deeds, but the poor peasants who got booted off the land or had their town ransacked most certainly would have seen them as "evil deeds."  But I think nowadays, people get knighted for good deeds, acts of charity or some good accomplishments as representatives of what's good about the nation.  Am I right, Brits?
