This video is absolutely brilliant, and all too true. I thought it would make a great kick off for a new thread. After watching it, post your ideas, POEers.

He has his finger on it doesn't he? We are not awed enough by how incredible things are around us.

But I secretly want to go back to the dialling telephones - then if I am out - I am unavailable.  I refuse to be at anyone's beck and call 24/7.  SMS me - lol.

His monologue is funny..and has some truth to it...but people are unhappy because there's always someone around to wreck your plans..many don't mean to....it just happens, One of the things we learned in supervisory was to chose people that complimented the rest of  the people there..and that did not mean they were completely the same personality...just enough though... to get along well when together.

Despite the timing being "instant" these days its not. Part of this is the constant commericalism going on. I agree..your life is yours 24/7..and not that of others that are trying to sell you on something, or don't know what to do to handle something simple.  I find it harder to get ahold of people I need at times because of that.."please hold" while I connect you bit, the automated services and I tend to go around and around, until it  gets fustrated enough to let an human help me..by then its been 10 to 15 mins, it might of taken less then 5 mins to answer many of my questions otherwise by an human...as far as my bank goes...I still go there..because if you go there enough...the people know who you are..and that gives greater security in ways...we were told that an sucessful business person knows his banker..and his banker him. Same for you local politicians. Same for your health insurance and other insurance providers...for one thing they are better able to serve you if they know you...that does not mean they need to be sitting on your door step constantly either. It simply means your more then an " number" to them. Same goes for some of the big medical clinics...if you have an problem...Who saw you last?...you don't  know unless they wrote their name down on something...I might of forgotten if I don't know them much...and when I want to talk to my Dr..I at some times want to talk to my Doctor...then let him tell the others what to do...that's how my dad died...the Hospic workers gave him an drug that was inocmpatible with what the doctor gave him...as one was not consulting with the other over his general health care. In short they each thought they were doing what he needed "separately" I could do nothing, because it was his wife..not me, his daughter that had that authority..and she probably didn't know what to do either..or did she?She got everything and said one day, we'll take care of this from now on. At any rate his signing papers to not to try to save his life..I doubt they even tried. When dad signed those papers..what he meant was not to save his life if there was no sign of total recovery there or such high costs it became an burden to the family. My dad supposedly keeled over dead at something like 5 am in the morning..and it wasn't until 2 pm they called me. So I would guess he died because the incompatible medcines finally acted upon each other...the only reason he died so quickly. His problems were his lungs...not his heart. Many of these things these days is what makes people unhappy.  High priced health care,.."heartless" bankers...and politicans whom amoung to "blowhards" lining thier own pockets. I can laugh about the airline maybe taking longer time ..and the telephone...but not when it comes to finances and health issues.,,fees and expenses forced upon me by others. I must say..it was better then listening to someone making fun of older people though..or relatives. Laughing with people is far different then laughing at them. Teasing them an bit is all together different as long as its done lightly. But..each to his own I guess.

Now, I have watched very little about William and Kates wedding when it came to having to being dragged through Charles and Daina's problems...I shut it off. Diana was probably murdered by one of the

middle eastern countries..or an terrorist group because she was about to make her "cause" in the world that of shutting down roadside bombs...as she had come across children playing amoung the rubble of the lands being killed from un-dentonated bombs...some of them from simply walking over them not knowing they were there. To many of the third world countries...this is how they fight their wars for lack of funds.. instead like what is going on now with lasers and nuke facilties. The "Mexicans" have taken to decapitating people's heads now. Mankind has not matured much since the beginning of time I think when it comes to war. But anyway..if Diana had crusaded this effort of hers, it would of lead to perhaps treaties that would of never been up held anyway..so goes. William has every right to want his mother's "loving" side shown at his wedding...as all people love their parents..even when in some cases they abuse them...though I doubt this was ever done in William's household...or hope so. They could of said things like one of my divorced friends said about her ex-husband..we tried but life took us on different paths...and it so happens it does unless you work conintually on it that it doesn't.

I go now and leave you with an essay to read once again. But you asked how we felt about things.  I think this guy has promise for an comedian..he reminds of my teacher/nephew in ways...Chris.

So true, Diana.  We take so much for granted.
