Chris & Sarah who created, designed and kept the site running for many years have now requested our help to prevent POE from disappearing for ever. POE is not just a site for exploring the beautiful photographs of England. It is not just a site for adding your pictures of England. It is not just a site where you can look up places in England, or information of Cities, Towns or places of interest. It is not just a site where you can have some fun in the forums, or get information on photographic equipment. It is all those things and so much more - it is a community! A community which requires the support of each member belonging to it in order to sustain itself.

Having only just joined it is not good to read about this problem, I think its a great forum. I question what difference my little donation would make !, I have no idea of the cost involved. I guess some effort must have been made already to find a major sponsor or is that not possible ? |

POE requested us to upgrade our membership and our contribution would be GBP15.00. from those who can afford that. But if that is too much then 1000 members all sending GBP1.00 would help cover the immediate crisis. If you send GBP1.00 then they only need 999 others to do the same - so you can make a difference. It just needs everyone doing a little bit to make all the difference and keep the POE site alive.

I see quite an few web sites now along the edges of their sites are introducing an "business card" type sponsor...but POE would have to pick firms that were world-wide for that with their membership. Last I heard POE had 7,500 members....yes, an little should go an long way if everyone helped. |
