(((((Huggies)))))....carry on Cathy....

Brenda...I think I did some ressearch one time on the Fort you mentioned. I was doing an thing last winter on George Washington's Forts from Pennsylvania southward. My 4x great grandmother's family the Read/Reed's moved from nearby Princeton University to Somerset County, Pa. in the 1700's. From there they went to Ohio,Ilinois and out to Oregon in 1847....they also have an connection with being in Virginia and Tenneessee also. So I use to belong to the Historical Society back there in Pensylvania  in the past. We swapped data one time as they have an old time redition of the Pioneer period in Arts and Crafts and out here we have an "Jazz Festival" every year. both events in each locale draw thousands upon thousands of people yearly. I'll have to see if I can find the pamphlet again. I have this Reed/Read line back to England now. Freemasons you know. They have in one case made our Davis family possibly the Reverand to George Washingotn's family in an book now...and was with the family at his death...you know he bled to death...they use to do that "bleed" people for thier ailments. Not sure I completely argee with this Davis line as to being ours quite yet though. As much as I think the founder of Princeton University.. Rev. Samuel Davies line. I do know the Huff family that deals with my ancestor's 1812 military history was the " Mason" that did Washington's funeral though...he was connected to Kentucky back then...Virgina Gene Society has the family genealogy from years past in thier files...that was reprinted years and years ago. My ancestor and my hubby's lineage were traveling together to buy and set up George Washington's line of Forts just before the Rev. War era. If I get an chance to go to England some day... by then I should have enough history on all the families that it ought to be an truly awesome trip for me....It will mean more to me that just tours to the castle's...it will be like seeing family "roots" all over again. Thanks to POE I can still see some of this now also...and the history people give on the sites helps me also.(Paul is an wonderful resource aide of help also).... I've been to Pennsylvania many times in the past on family history in person. Several other Presidents also married into lineages of some side of my family..through marriage also. I know of several...Pres. William Henry Harrison,  Pres. Abraham Lincoln, and President Harding...as well as George Washington...that between my dad, my mother and my hubby's family. Our family in Illinois had Ronald Reagan's near by also as nieghbors in the  not to far distance..before they moved to California.

Hi, Diana, Nice to see you. Hope the new job is still going well. Keeping you busy?

That was very interesting, Shirley, about your historical research. I hope you get to go to England one day and continue the search. A few other things about Forty Fort you might like looking at in the PA Historical Society are the Nathan Denison House, Swetland Homestead and the Old Meeting House that's located inside the Forty Fort Cemetery. It's believed to be the oldest building in northeast PA.

Good wishes to everyone for a pleasant day. Our heat wave hits today. Supposedly will be in the upper 90 degrees F. I think I'll stay inside and keep out of the sun for this one. A bit too warm for me.

Nice to see you this morning - You must just be ending your day and we are well into the morning here!

Morning/afternoon all.

Anna and I are feeling a tad better this morning with the cough 'possibly' on it's way out after 4 - 6 weeks! We can now cough without it blowing our heads off, thats a huge plus!

Yeah, thanks for that Mick. Neither of us are coughing quite so much this morning, even had a reasonable nights sleep for once. The plus being as I mention above, we can now cough without it hurting at the temples, over the eye's, the top of the head although that could still have something to do with the Morphine and Paracetamol that we have to take.

But now I look out of the window in despair, how the weeds have grown during a period of total inactivity.

Can't do much without good health can you?
