Ron, you said in another thread you take paracetamol and have headaches.  I was on pain killers and they can cause rebound headaches.  Then because of the headache you take another pain killer but that makes it worse etc etc !  Now I rarely take anything and headaches have stopped.

I was taking NSAID's for a while and became another victim, now have gastritis and reflux !

Not really old fashion cures as yet.  For toothache rub on clove oil

What did the old witch say ?  something like eye of toad, leg of frog.  Not available on NHS .

Also a victim of reflux Mick, and NSAID's. Amazing how our symptoms/illness problems appear closely matched. Is it an age thing do you think?

I think it has more to do with over-prescribed medicines in a lot of cases!

Back to "old fashioned medicines".  How many people still use Vicks or Friars Balsam to clear their nasal passages?  Still works folks!

I remember my mother giving us a spoonful of malt every morning plus a halibut liver orange tablet and we rarely got colds and sniffles.  I don't think I could take the halibut liver orange again, but bet that many of the omega tablets have something very similar in them today.

Ron, you could be right about age. Time to worry is when the only birthday or Christmas presents you get are batteries for the hearing aid.

How about going out with a back pack to carry your own auto defibrillator, that would be shocking.
