Going on our jolly holly's in a weeks time, usually take a good book or two to read incase the weather turns, any suggestions, I like murder mystery or something with a bit of a twist.....

.What is your favourite book, that if you were stranded on a desert island you would need to have with you

Mine would be anything by Agatha Christie

Don't usually have much time to read. Either out taking photos, out for a meal or maybe just a few beers. If we do stay in I'm usually sorting out the day's photos on the laptop to see what can be uploaded to POE. Always have a couple of photo mags with me. Last week took Keith Richards life story with but didn't open it ! ! ! (only had it since Xmas!!!)   If I was on a desert island, on my own!!! I think it would have to be an Encyclopaedia. Such a great opportunity to learn without any interruptions. But I think I'd rather stick to the cottage in Ambleside with the laptop and mags.

Great question though Karen and look forward to other peoples views

I usually take several books with me and as Dave says, I'm usually too busy to sit and read!  Although I do like to read at night curled up in a warm bed, but it soon puts me to sleep, lol.

Any book with an bit of history to it, or an mystery...involving finding some kind of lost relic...cookbook's from different lands..different era's...different traditions. They are my "quick reads".  I don't ususally read in the summer..just to much to do. I like my yearly Valentine Day's "romance" novel though. I have an camera I need to understand better for pictures, and I need some help loading pictures on the net. I have several rather diffferent books on the history of the Templar knight's...I have my "angel" books also. You do know there was an guy here in Lake Oswego that they channeled and hypnotised and it comes out he's the "Apostle Paul"...I've heard an lot of people say you can't trust channeled information though...but it was an lovely read just the same. I wonder what happened to him after reading the book. I like my archeology magazines also. Use to take National Geographic, I have them all over the place. I like my Native American books and skills and herbs of thier culture. After that...craft books...things you can make. I also at one time Traditonal Home magazine. I often use my books and magazines in my decor. I also like Mother Earth News Magazines...Backwoods home...many of the magazines are now on line. Science...lot of people supply me with science articles. That about does it. Gemini's never lack for the learnign processes...I'm an Gemini... we rule communications....all forms of it also.

Definitely the Urantia book for me. Great spiritual concepts and it complements the Bible beautifully...IMHO. :-)

I'd probably take a Jane Austen or one of the Bronte sisters.  Especially if I was vacationing in England.
