The BBC reseases a lot of their programs on DVD and I wonder if this 3 part docu is available in the shops over there (I mean the UK)? I asked the question on the BBC website, but they won't answer. I want to order them (if available on dvd) but they (Belgian shops) usually don't import those dvd's. Can someone tell me if it's on DVD? |

I followed your link, James. I could go crazy buying DVD's about the English countryside. The ones I have are COAST and Alan Titchmarsh's The Nature of Britain. They are WONDERFUL!

There is an alternative that might be of interest of a set showing the wildlife and plants in Britian throughout the seasons. Seems a reasonable price for the DVD set. http://www.bbcshop.com/science+nature/living-britain-dvd/invt/131830/&bklist=
Hope next week goes ok Ron. Edited by: Paul Hilton at:3rd September 2011 18:10 |

Matt went off on a train through the Highlands and got off at a remote station in the middle of nowhere that was once very popular with Victorians and is now all but deserted. A bit of Glen Coe; the 3 Sisters are as you go through the glen. Picture by Robert Bullock

What I like about it, Ron? Well there's so much. It's one of those programs that makes me instantly jealous of the presenters because they've been there. If I was a millionaire I would take some time of and visit all those places the very next day. That remote train station was fantastic, and someone actually sits there behind the desk. In the middle of nowhere ! But there was also a spot on some privat land. Not really a cave but it was a sudden drop down between some trees which hardly any human ever saw. That place was really magical. I have to see them again so I can give you more details about my favorites. Don't hesitate to see this if they decide on a rerun ! |

I had no idea what a large book it is! Of the coffee table variety. Very enjoyable. It doesn't appear that the DVD is available in Region 1 though, more's the pity. I enjoy watching Alan Titchmarsh. He did a DVD series on English gardens that was very nice, and I miss watching "Ground Force." |
