So I deleted them, but there were 3 in a row and they're coming in as I type this. So here's another for you to delete. To anybody out there looking into the forums, it goes without saying - DO NOT click on any links from weird spammers for the safety of your computers.

I know how hard it is chasing these spammers down and appreicate yours (other mods and the powers that be) for your dilligence. I've killed a few of them over the past couple of weeks . I wonder what sets them off? |

I guess my message to them would be: "Get a life!" lol I deleted 4 postings in a row, but I think the only way to stop them completely would be for Ron to delete their account. That's why I started the thread - I thought he might see this before he'd see an email. Well, I'm off to the park with Denzil for our morning walk. Have a great day!

I just go ahead and delete them, then send their board names off to Chris and Ron via email so they can decide whether to delete the account. Chances are though, after the first set of posts, they usually don't come back. Remember the time we got hundreds at a time from a spammer bot. I was up for hours deleting them as they came in. The ones we've had lately are small fry compared to them, and easily cleaned up. James, if I read your question right, you're asking how we know what accounts need deleting, right? For us as mods, its not so much that we have to worry about the account and its owner, but the posts themsleves. If they are spamming, posting links to anything and everything and not in the minutest sense posting about POE or replying to a thread, then they go. Happy mopping . |

Last night I could not get into my email account again. I barely find it somedays... to lose it again. Someone VERY much doesn't want me talking genealogy and it's been that way for many years now...,and I do see our history is slowly being "changed" by these nim-com-puts...all for certain family controlling.... I would guess. Isuppose if I get into this long enough, I'll eventually find out whoms is behind what and why. I chased down the "Pleis" name again...it's now in England...which took me an bit by surprise. Why doesn't the lady declare herself "Queen" of her own country... and leave the rest of us all alone....and our legacy. I have an question James Asked me about on Sam Huston's cherokee wife...I'll put it into an new thread. Prince Harry is here right now...in Las Vegas...he was on our news this morning....looks like he's having an good time! |

Fact is Ruth I cannot delete the accounts, I have to pass them on to Chris and Sarah who will then 'deal' with them once and for all. However, some are persistent, as was the one referred to today, but Sarah was soon onto it. Night, night Mr Spammer! As moderators of course we can delete the posts in the forum, but to completely wipe them out a quick email to C&S at the following address is probably best. So email C&S please... UK2 at Picturesofengland.com with SPAMMER in the subject line. And Shirley, what constitutes a spammer? Anybody advertising their goods, or any other rubbish for sale in the forum. Thanks once again to Ruth, Sue and James for getting involved as moderators. It is your input that helps to keep POE safe. |

He may of done that by way of the old site manager.... as it was "off" line for several days. Then Elk went on to working nights at his job... and we hardly see him any more...figures.....It sounded like an lot of work to me then. |
