The union just passed an bill to end the teachers strike in Tacoma, Washington, it is all over the news tonight, because these same teachers are increasingly having students that can't pass the government regulations for students to pass their grade average.. do .you think they should be "over looked" for poor job performance..reguardless of senority?. The wealthy can afford to hire suppliment tutoring...the middle class workers can not. this increase will probably result in an increase of taxes for thier state also,...or and higher state sales tax...Washington is an  sister state to Oregon and California...all three the highest unemployments rates in the countryside...this sets an " bad image"  for people demanding quailty for  the pay given. I wonder how many MILLIONS of people that have been overlooked for pay raises to keep the costs down to stimulate the enonomy these days. Pigs!  ONK! ONK!.....sorry but when your GREED... is MORE important then the welfare of others, says it all....you shall know them by what they do to the elderly (whom never got an cost of living raise on thier social security last year, after several years wating for one).... and the children..bad example. Yesterday they closed down another school in Portland...someone had set it fire to...Maryhurst...one of the parents said it was "OK" with him,.. they had transfered his kids out of their own district to go to this school...he likes them closer to home for security reasons.

We are going to have a similar situation here Shirley with the Public Workers (Civil Servants....Ha!) Servants my a...e! They are apparently going on strike on Nov 30th to 'protect' their pensions etc whilst we (the rest of the country) put up with the hard times. There is no way we can get any more, but these B......s are going to hold us to ransom!

I say go on strike, lose your jobs because there are 2.5 million unemployed here right now just waiting to fill them.

Greedy B......s the lot of you!

Long-shoremen up in Longview, Washington are on strike right now and its not an "lovely" affair going on up there, they arrested 6 of them yesterday as they tore up an security check point building and worked over an car. Yet you can't blame them, the bankers get handed more money, an host of other businesses, everything but the people. I was listening to an rather interesting show last night on this guy talking about peak oil. He says they are not telling the truth. It did peak some years ago as to open, easy oil deposits...now they are at an great price having to go get it the hard way, it's also more inferior oil. He figures we have maybe at most 300 plus years left of all the oil reserves they can find. That includes the shale/oil in Canada and northern USA. He says "China" is using it in the Billions while its only able to be processed in the millions of barrels. This guy says the days of the 20th centruy are gone,,,when our natural resources were abundant for the "picking" and the cost of everything was really low to process things. He says it not just oil either. We have depleted our earth of many of it's natural resources. He says that goes for our trees, and vegetation, and fertility of the soil also. He will be back on "coasttocoastam" radio talk show again this Wednesday night to discuss this more.

they gave themselves an $4, 500 plus yearly wage increase....without outside help....just off their investments from the past...this is Oregon State University....I'm glad they finally admitted they had them, I've known for years they joined together to buy up "Condo's" all over the place fo rtheier retirement pensions...so now...what's wrong they can't educate the kids...they were using that excuse to fight for more wages, wages they have that so many of  us don't have these days.
