The bus driver sounded her horn and the backup beep was heard, but the man apparently didn't hear it and just stood where he was directly behind the bus. The driver backed up, knocked him down and he died instantly. Turned out later that one of the mirrors in the bus wasn't functional. I felt so sorry for the man and his family. The next day another bus was involved in an accident, but without injury. Hope there's not a third. |

Especially mini busses. One 2 weeks ago the driver overtook a long line of traffic to try and get in front but he collided with a semi coming the other was after bouncing off a car. The mini buss which was carrying 20 people instead of 15 went down a bank and the semi landed on top of it. 15 dead but the driver survived. His now in jail and has been charged. (With murder if you don't mind) Every day there are mini bas crashes because they drive like idiots and most of the vehicles are unroadworthy and overloaded. They also exceed the speed limit all the time. So tragic. Many of the mini busses are Toyota Hi-Aces which has prompted people to call them Hi impact African Culling Equipment. |
