"Pahst" The same short "a" sound as in bratwurst, hence brats. Whe I say the word past, it's with the same short "a" sound as math. Like brat, or rat, or sat. See? Simple! What was it our good friend Peter Evans used to say? Two countries separated by a common language. lol Kabobs, kebobs, who knows the correct spelling. And of course, like so many other words, what's correct over here isn't over there. They also call hot dogs weiners over here. Brats are shaped like hot dogs, BTW. Hope that clears things up. :-) |
