The 'games' need to be defended with missiles and rockets of various shapes and sizes? Oh yes, that's sportsmanship, what say you members? Waste of time and money, or worth it? |

But in the economic climate is it a good thing or bad thing? I do hope it brings in plenty of revenue for the country - but then again - at what cost to the citizens? |

I am not particularly against the games as it think it will be good for the country in general, but certainly the amount of money involved could be put to much better use. And when they tot it all up at the end I bet the Lotterygets told it has to stump up millions, now that i certainly am against. I work in the transport industry and even now, as close as we are to what is without doubt the biggest event this country has ever hosted, I am utterly convinced that the majority of people do not have a clue as to the monumental scale of disruption which about to be unleashed.

We already have customers telling us that they cannot take deliveries during the days so are having to make arrangements for overnight deliveries. And consequently some of the hauliers we use are already making plans to have some drivers on night duty.....What a farce But as to being locked in, get out there and give the 550 a blast. You know it makes sense...colourful, action, people.... you may even be lucky and have a few minutes without rain ! ! ! I'd be in my element for the 2 days of the road races, but as you know it was my chosen sport for many years, many years ago..... |

I love watching sports and what a great event for this country to be hosting. However, I do have family in London and I know the cost in money and hassle to them, which is just another fine example of how this country does not think things through properly. For those who are going to be adversely affected by the games, this is a bane and disaster. However, for many it will be a time of national achievement and I hope we get a sense of coming together as a nation and that we show the rest of the world, what a great country we are. I am proud of this country, for all its failings and proud to English. |

The lasting legacy will be to remind Britons what made their country great, the achievements of the past and possibilities for the future and reignite a social attitude of common purpose and lift. This is Britain's time to shine. |

Look at it like this.. if the end of 2012 brings disaster you can look back on this year in England with all that's going on and have some great memories for the hassle your all put through. I saw what looked like most of the world showing up...and in peace also. 204 countries I think they said....even Portland, put an sign up in Pioneer Square Ron...pointing to England with 9,246 miles...just in case your looking for the Olympics. I bought an book today at the "Goodwill" here in town, that has been plasticized (shellaced) and made into an rainproofed item I sat out on the front patio porch...it says.... A bell isn't a bell, until you ring it.... A song isn't an song , until you sing it. And the Love that's in you...Wasn't put there to stay. Love isn't love, Till you give it away |
