It happened that a Chinese guy (who confirmed he was the landlord when I asked him) said that the the toilets are only for customers. I said okay, but this is an emergency, one of the girls being unwell. The answer I got was a really nasty growling response "get off my car park, you stopping customers coming in". It was mid afternoon and the car park was empty, he even had bollards across the entrance! I ushered the girl to the toilets which were virtually outside, down the side of the pub, and the landlord didn't bother us, but if that's the attitude he takes when it was no skin off his nose to say yes, help yourself, then that is the last time we go anywhere near the place for drinks and/or food. So anybody else got a 'Name and Shame' situation? |

It was really stupid of me because I know the area very well indeed, along with both Villages referred to. They are close together, but I was wrong so as promised the comment has been deleted, along with the original thread title. The comment was not intended for the pub that you mentioned Paul and it has therefore been deleted totally, with as I said an apology. I travel through these villages probably 4 times a week and know the other pub very well also. I have used it many times in the past and will again call in to see the landlord personally. Thank you for bringing it to my attention. Edited by: Ron Brind at:10th October 2012 01:20 |

So what is your gripe with me and/or my 'forgetful selective memory'? Please do enlighten us all regarding your issues, but consider that maybe it is you that has a forgetful selective memory? It was you that telephoned me from the States asking for a favour for a certain person here in the UK, to arrange the delivery of a birthday cake and card (which I did for you) explaining that I should keep it all very quiet in case the persons wife found out. I have always respected your wish, even though I don't agree with it. You said in the post above you don't need to be forgiven, but there might be others who would disagree. I absolutely fail to see how I have hurt you with the post regarding the pub mentioned above, so why did you get involved in this discussion, you don't even know the pub do you? Please do 're-post' your comments and let the members decide who is right or wrong on this matter. I am now going to bed so you will be able to write whatever you like without fear of me deleting it. I hope in a few hours time you will find time to apologize to me for your outburst, as I did to Paul and the landlord re the address of the pub concerned, when it was clear that I had made a mistake. My edit ONLY added the following blue text in brackets making it clear what I was referring to.. (the title of the thread that is)

I got the address of a Pub wrong and naturally because he knew differently he put me right, for which I said thank you, with an apology, what more could I do? He suggested I visit the Pub (I have done so). He signed into POE twice, probably in an attempt to disguise himself and made various personal threats, but in the last few days and having visited the pub to ask a few questions about him, things are not quite as he would have us believe! I am now hoping that he will provide me with an apology. He knows who he is, but if it's not forthcoming no matter I can live with it, but I certainly didn't expect it. He can contact me via the secure POE contact facility if he wishes and I won't make his apology public or name him. If it happens, I will respect him again! I will also now let this thread drift into oblivion, but clearly having received over 200 views somebody was interested, but interested enough to apologize, we shall see.
