Posts: Joined: 1st Jan 1970 | editPosted at 01:13 on 30th October 2012 AS usual..I forgot an few things....this story about Maybelle was gleamed briefly from an story in an book called "Legends of the Old West" by James Crutchfield/Bill O'Neal/Dale L. Walker..I picked the book up at the Goodwill here in town. Now ..under the name of Thomas Howard..Jessie James moved his family to St. Joseph...he welcomed one Charles and Bob Ford into his gang as new recruits...(Bob?..no one called people "bob" back then did they?)....and had just finished plans for an bank hold up for the next day when Bob realized his chance...pulled his revolver and shot Jesse in the back and he fell dead. The Ford brothers went to the telegraph office to claim thier reward. Jessie was buried in the front yard of his mother's farm. The Ford brothers were treated with comtempt...Charles commited sucide in 1884, and Bob was shot and killed in 1882. A few months after Frank tunred himself in to authorites..namely Missouri's Govenor..Crtittendon..after several trials and legal moves he was accquitted and released from custody..and lived another 30 years in quiet honest exisistence. Kind fo an interesting story because our family has been stalked in ways by an "Bob" these days... and keep coming up dead of various means looking "natural"...but I also wonder if these "Ford" people are any connection to Ford's theater.... where Abe Lincoln was killed also. One report I read on that one was that then acting vice President...later President by the name of "Pike" had Abe Lincoln killed...because of his polices against slavery....they could no longer used colored folk, the chinese and American Indians as "free" slaves for building the railroad...and the cost of it there after rose to un- imaginable heights. Pike owned an big share in one of the Railroad Companies. Other notes...Polly Shirham supposedly married one Littleberry Lawson in Virginia..there's an namesake supposedly living in Mercer Co., Ky where my hubby's family lived. James Lawson m. Florence Brown and lived in the area....James Represented the Bracken Association of Baptists, and Cedarville Baptist Church...and thier last entry of the church was involving the issue of slavery...which the church decreeded..".each be subject to his own master" concerning it being right or wrong, it's last meeting before the church closed for the Civil War. ...the church is now "on-liine" and has been re-bought these days by an young group of people restarting it up again.James Lawson was my husband's grandfather. His parents were Nimrod Lawson m. Sarah Jane (Murphy) Hill...her mother was an Jane Larkins in North Carolina married precher Joseph Murphy as his second wife. Jane is an daughter of an old William Larkin in Virginia. I beleive at this time that his son "John" married Sarah McAdoo..daughter of the REv. Samuel McAdoo of North Carolina into Tenneessee and northward...thier farm is now an "century" farm in the family over 100 years...and they were Scot-Irish Presbyterian..and I'll get to that later on. AS I think the lineage came off the European royal line an "Adjou" and the ones in Tennessee were noted Masoic Lodge member in the late 1700's. At one time they were probably referred to in Scotland as an "McAdjou" that got change dover here into McAdoo and McAdow. Neighbors to George Washington's kin over in Europe...they were with Lafeyette when he was shot in the leg during the Rev. War. Benjamin Franklin was an Masonic Lodge member and so was George Washington. As the Planegent family the Lawson help to found the "Priory of Scion" or the later Masonic Lodge. I will be getting into these Royal lines this winter hopefully so they are better understood in early colonial days over here. Now I go an prepare for tonight's "Dancing with the Stars' and the relation of the name of "Bob" in our people stems from Robert Bruce in Scotland and one "Robert Lawson"....carrying an "Planegent" coat of arms legacy. It is said also of the "Lucus" family Kegleys has an William Lucus that married an Elizabeth Price..also said "Pierce" insome records..they belong oto the Masoic lodge under the earlier name of Percy...she was the daughter of an Micheal Price...and the Pierce family Association has been watching over me for many many years now. They married in Oct. 2, 1782. There is an Huff family near by also..also masonic lodge members and married the O'Neal family that buried Geo. Washington after he passed on.Robert Lucus helped build Fort Meigs area where my ancestor William E. Larkins was during the War of 1812..helping to build that Fort. Meigs....Lucus later became Ohio's first Govenor. See Kegley's Va. Frontier series of genealogy/history books. This William Lucus is an contender.... to be my "older' William Larkin in records. I take it his father is named Capt John Lucus at one time. Thomas MIddleton was the neighbor of this John Lucus. John Lucus married Polly Wilson, daughter of Samuel Wilson..his wife was Rececca Burk..daughter of Jame s Burk. Burk family again leads us back to my freind's leagacy of the Young m. Spears family. Willam Burk helped the Native Ameircans learn "farming" in Ohio...and surrounding areas before our Government removed his efforts after Washington died and they decided to put them on Reservations. He was friends with "the Prophet" or Tecumseh also. They were preachers and "methodist"...they left an diary. |

C to Massahchusetts as this 700 mile super storm goes roaring through the area...it has over whelmed me as an psychic in trying to help others. Morning should be something else..there are about 3 milllion people without power alone in NewYork area. Winds came into New Jersey at around 90 MPH and won't be down to around 30 MPH across northern Canada until tomarrow night sometime. The storm surge was 12 feet high going into New Jersey and much of along the coast saw at least 4 to 6 foot surges...lower Manhatten is under water. Rain totals are in the 5 to 10 inches depending on where your at. for now, I go to bed, my mouth is hurting like crazy tonight also. Pres. Obama is asking people to "stay put" until daylight tomarrow please. Whole east coast of the US is under emgergency alert status. |

I have put some of my photos on Flickr. My son used to attend Hilton College when we lived in Pmburg and we had some very scary journeys up the motorway to get him from and to school! We do seem to be having more storms than usual. We had a bad one last night also and another this afternoon, so I have dived in here quickly before we get hit again! Mind you, I don't think it is anything compared to what the Eastern States of the USA have and are facing, thankfully. Thinking of all our American friends and hoping you are all safe!

They are showing an picture this morning of sand carried in over 5 blocks from the tidal surge to pile up to the heads of parking meters in the roads...it will take an while for clean up on that one...houses on stiltsoriginally along the beach...are now sitting on the sand..but still intact. Millions...I do mean Millions are witout power...something like5 million people....and without power there goes the refrigeration for the food also. People better listen to the bible and have stored up food, as it mentions to do. It is something our ancestors did in the past also. I am feeling an little better...the Queen Charlotte Islandsoff Vancouver B. C...that had the 7.7 earthquake Saturday night hadanother one last night of 6.5...thank your lucky stars it's in an remote area...it's energy was probably what I was absorbing that Ifelt so badly. So I rest some today and take it easy. James...the story I told....part of this group was traveling with Sam Huston after being kicked off their land in Tenneesse with the land fraud deal called the Yazhoo Land Fraud....that's why they went to Texas...they asked the Mexican Govt to live there you know at the time....and of course this was also just before the "Trail of Tears" episode also. Later on it would include the fight at the "Alamo" and then the Spanish/Mexican War. The Rogers family..female Lawson line in England, married my New England Larkin family also..but they also married the Barnett family...whom married the Lucus family also. Preachers and connected in an "Bio" I have of Benjamin Franklin as having been his wife's first husband that deserted her more or less...after forming and joining the "West Indies" company, after the Boston Tea Party worked over the East Indies Company, who dealt in shipping trade goods and selling them also, particularly wild gingsing..herbal...use to grow wild in Tenneesee, doesn't now though that I know of...they killed it off cultivating it all back then and never replanting more of it to harvest later on. They also sold much of the Native American tobacco grown here also around the world. |

I am in Natal province near Durban. Just outside the provincial capital - Pietermaritzburg. The city is named after Pieter Potgieter and Gert Maritz who were Boer leaders in the far off days of the Great Trek. Cape Town is 1000 milkes from here and we (that is my late wife and I) last August/September especially to see the wild flowers. Once a year, if there has been rain, the flowers come out in the desert which is north west of Cape Town. The Town of pater Noster, which features in some of the pictures is a popular resort near the West Coast National Park where I shot the pictures of the flowers. The people in the picture (the ones with the grey hair) live in Simonstown near Cape Town and we have known them for ever. We stayed with them for 2 weeks and he lent me the BMW to travel around in. SA is very varied. You have the Cape Peninsular with its Mediterranean climate, Natal which is sub tropical along the coast and temperate inland. Then there is the Free State which is a huge flat area of grassland and the Joburg area which is over 6000 ft above sea level. Finally there is the low veld which is almost tropical and then the central desert areas. Cathy I shall send you my link right away if I still have your email address. Just checked and I don't so maybe you can send it to me. On the otherhand maybe I should paste it here so other POEsters can see the pics too. Let's see if that works. http://www.flickr.com/photos/20124396@N03 There you go, enjoy the pics. I will put some more up of the Natal area. My prayers are with the good folk of the Eastern USA and I trust they are all going to be ok, except of course for those who sadly already have already died. RIP |
