LOL@James....not my leaves!!

Respectfully suggest you collect them up, and leave them to rot over the next couple of years to make fantastic 'leafmould'. I suppose it depends on how much of a gardener you are really, but they do compost down really well.

Get the wife out there sweeping them up James...one more little job won't hurt her! Might be a good idea not to show her my post?

Hi to all POEsters...

Lol! James.  Your annual autumn wail!!  I hope their tree gives you the benefit of some cool shade during the Summer to compensate!

The sky is blue with puffy white clouds at the moment, so fingers are crossed that it doesn't storm!  At least I will have had the chance to say Hi to everyone and hope you are having a great day.

If you celebrate Halloween, have a fun time and stay safe!

James,,up here in the Rockie Mts., when the leaves fall,,,within hours they are all blown away,,,no need for a rake here !! though a snow shovel will be the instrument of choice here soon enough !!

Ron,,better hide that post !!!

Hope all are well on this All Saints Eve,

You guys don't know how to do the leaf bit thingy...you attach an grass bag on your lawn mower and "mow" them up..and yes, take them to the garden as winter mulch..the mowing cuts them down to an easy size to handle also. Think of it as being "God's Way" to add nutreints back into the growund for growing things. I've even went down curb side in the street here, rather then trying to rake them all up...that lifting those leaves to toss out is an heavy job for me to do. Time consuming also. When they get cut down smaller they are also less apt to blow away..when you do mulch them somewhere. I also find the birds like to use them in the Spring to help cushion thier new little babies into the world.

Syd..your smart I think for renting out the house...rather then selling it...my sister would of been in such better shape had she taken my advice and done the same...she'd have something to borrow from for loan money in getting an different car to drive...now she has nothing. I will be going over there tomarrow to help her. She probably is alive right now for me taking the time to go an pick her up and bring her to my house when she passed her gall stones and in pain...otherwise she would of probably stayed by herself alone and died in her apartment that night...as it was..I live three miles to an hospital..and that's where I took her. She never fought it either.

On the positive side...hubby's leg is healing really well, his other tapes have fallen off and you can hardly tell there was an incision there now...he stands "normal" again..and not with one leg bent to the inside crooked with the knee bone headed angled inside. He's had his belly botton hernia taken care...inadequate doctoring at his birth and same went for his brother in my estimation...now deceased...he needed one also. Finally..he's had his colonscopy and had any possible polps removed that could be an cancer problem later on..they simply no longer exist. He's got an good weight on him and excellent vital signs also. I still expect some time to re-adjust though to everything...but I think the things bothering him the most about hisi health has been taken care of now. My worst problem was this tooth...and it's out, even if it did leave me with an fractured jaw...though later I have some tooth replacement...and I'm considering false teeth and just being done with it all at my age. But for now, my mouth does some healing also. WE have some finishing bills to pay off I think..so don't know how Christmas will go this year, but I already gave my son an lump sum out of my Social Security check and told him that was pretty much it for now..to use it to take his kids somewhere if possible... and maybe we could join them. Ithink it would last for an weekend outting maybe. Now we have an car to get us there also.

Hurricane Sandy..of course it left all kinds of damage...and there's an special show tonight here at 10 pm on the damage done...but Ithink this time around they should stop the "sensationaism" of it all and pay attention to re-doing things so if it ever happens again..it's not as harmful. I refer to 42 miles of their subway system induanted with water...and one quarter of the cell phones towers around New York down also..and not operating. AS in all disasters I've seen there is great need for heavy operating machinery to help with the relief of it all...especially plow and dirt movers and tree cutting and mulching equiptment. In some cases.."makshift" bridges and housing needs for the newly made homeless. I doubt they could survive in the winter in New England in an tent situation. But old warehouses made into tempoary shelters might help somewhat. In the meantime they sent the Oregon National Guard in to help until it's cleaned up completely...and the Oregon Red Cross set up an "phone bank"to help the people get service to help if needed for repairs and just in general. Red cross is asking for the public to send in an 10 dollar donation to help them also help the people in food and services...it's not that much in reguard. They not only help here, but the world over most the time. So far they put the damage at 20 billion Dollars in the New York general area.  Stock market re-opened this morning...and the airlines are trying to re-open..one of their major runways is under water..but they put water pumps into action..so it just an matter of time maybe.

Well, I have on my " Holloween" top shirt on today...and have an few details to handle before the "trick or treaters" arrive tonight...so better get at it. By the way...everything was being put on sale at 50 per cent off last night...should you love an good shopping bargain...... Have an good day everyone!
