I can't believe that someone has now started a campaign (with some 50,000 signatures so far apparently) in an attempt to force the Sun Newspaper to stop publishing the Page 3 girls.

My own opinion is that this female has started the campaign for her very own 3 minutes of 'attention' albeit she was sat on the Morning TV sofa fully clothed, which is nothing more than one would expect at this time of day of course, but if she hates Page 3 that much, why buy the Sun Newspaper in the first place?

I don't buy Newspapers, not because I don't want to see page 3 girls, but because they are generally full of stories designed to actually sell the paper in the first place, or change political views and therefore not necessarily truthful, or helpful.

I say leave page 3 girls alone, but what about you members?

Firstly I would never call the Sun a 'newspaper'. Secondly page 3 has been on the go for 40+ years with several attempts to block it, so why try to fix something that ain't broke. Don't think it does any harm. But similar to you Ron, I cannot remember when I last bought a newspaper.

Like Ron I do not buy newspapers, but I may get to see them in a shop.

It is a fact that The Star gives you MORE .........

Counting number of days per year the papers are published I calculated that The Star had more to offer as follows :

2009 78%

2010 88%

2011 69%

Figures are for the % of days in which The Star offered more, however, there is no correlation between "more" and actual % increase on show used to define "more"

I take little notice but it does no harm to keep abreast of what is going on.

If the Sun didn't sell well, and it became obvious that it was, in part due to our population being shocked at the sight of the female breast, then Page Three would not feature a photogragh of a model at all. People enjoy the Sun, as is proved by the circulation. Where I live, The Sun does not sell perhaps as well as elsewhere, but that is not because we Scousers are shocked by a bit of exposed flesh. Trying to ban things should have a real and serious reason for so doing, but regardless, for good or bad, a ban on anything makes it far more attractive. Prohibition in the USA is a good example. As for topless models, well go to beaches and see if the common sight of “topless” sunbathers leads to depravity. I for one rather doubt it.
