I have watched the Nick Robinson programme tonight about immigration and I still say it's time to shut the door and sooner the better.

I believe he is referring to Chancellor George Osborne, Neil.

And Mick whilst writing, by all means voice your opinion here in the POE forum, but please be careful not to go over the top as you are likely to put others off commenting and thats the last thing we need.

Like me, you have strong opinions about various subjects, but you need to be careful not to land yourself (and POE) in hot water!

As Ron said Neil,George Osborne,his name was Gideon but he changed it to George.

  It was the "Times"newspaper who voted him "Briton of the year"

 This "Briton of the year"who made very rich men richer with tax cuts;and paid for the tax cuts with "the bedroom tax"and cutting benefits for the sick and closing workshops for the disabled down.

  I could think of a title for him,which would end ,of the year,but I don't wish to offend other people 

Now I know, please excuse the slowness on the take up from the south of Spain it must be the relaxed way of life that is catching me out on this subject.

In my opinion  he is still wet behind the ears.

C'mon UKIP love the way you have created discussion Nigel Farage. They are making moves because of what you say, please keep it going.

I see that George Osborne is getting some bad press here, but having entered the job with such a bad hand dealt to him, he had little option but to cut public spending. Even Labour admit that if they regained power, they would have to do the same. 

We all love to hate George because of the way he acts like a pantomime 'baddy' in the Commons, mercilessly goading Ed Balls. But don't forget that it was the same Ed Balls who presided over Labour's financial policies, which Gordon Brown claimed had put an end to the era of 'Boom and Bust'. Sadly, they only put an end to boom.

I suspect that George Osborne plays up to his 'baddy' image, having a naturally aristocratic face which would fit well in a Restoration Comedy. We are told that the economy is improving, and unemployment is falling, but a lot more needs to be done.

In the circumstances, I think George is doing the best he can.
