Apparently this has come from the House of Bishops a month after a proposal for Women Bishops was rejected. Right, wrong, cruel, does it matter? What say you members? |

I think the CoE is doomed now. Those who want traditional values will look to the Church of Rome. |

What does that say about their views on women? The women have largely been the backbone of the church congregations and have taken care of the religious (or not) education of their children. So we are still less than dust under their feet are we? I wonder what would happen if all women decided to leave the congregations - refuse to marry in a church or christen/baptise their children in one - how many services would still be held? Hummmmmm! |

Maybe your solution would be to have a 'Womens Church' but it is effectively so already, apart from having women Bishops, since the CoE allows women to be Priests. The divisive issues in the CoE relate to Church Leadership, where there are strong views on both sides. Those who oppose women Bishops and gay Bishops are generally the Evangelicals, who claim to follow biblical teaching. I am not a regular church-goer, but observe this carry-on with some sadness to see the Church so divided. Edited by: Edward Lever at:8th January 2013 19:49 |

This strong division of the chuch, by it's leadership, will kill it, I am sure!! "A house divided upon itself......!" At least when the Pope says No - there is no argument (the clergy might not like it but it shows strong leadership! ) |
