Laycock was used as Hogwarts for Harry Potter in one of the movies - don't know if it was all of them!

It looks as though Laycock Abbey was used to film The Philospher's Stone & Chamber of Secrets

Lacock is one magic village, a real time bubble and if my memory serves me well there are no yellow lines as they are not in keeping. I did actually stay in Lacock for quite a few months while I was working on a large survey of the then underground storage areas for the M.O.D. in the old Bathstone mines. I stayed at the " Carpenter's Arms" where for those few months we became part of the locals, they be the times.

Lacock has been used for filming on many occasions and as well as Harry Potter a major production of Pride and Prejudice and Cranford with Dame Judy Dench ( an old customer when I was at the Horley Shop) to name just a couple.

That village has to be fairly distinctive with the cottages having pigeon lofts/dove cotes in the roofs.  The only ones I can find so far are in the Yorkshire Dales but I haven't found a match for these ones yet!

St. Marys Church featured in an article in the Sunday Times, sadly they seemed to have failed to mention the name of the church I found the image whilst roaming around Google late last night, here is the artticle if anyone is interested.

Cathy, I was wondering if the photo above may form part of a bigger estate ? I'm a bit pushed for time today but I'll have a nosy around later, unless you come up with something earlier.

Well done everyone Laughing
