I've discounted a few around the Welsh coast, wrong stonework, wrong position and I'm left with Beaumaris. Whats does anyone else think - I may be totally wrong. rustyruth Posts: 18773 Joined: 23rd Oct 2012 Location: England | Posted at 18:12 on 7th May 2013 I had a look at Harlech (amongst many others) I dismissed it purely because of the distinctive shape of Great Orme in the distance which can't be seen from Harlech. There are a lot of Welsh castles built in Edward I era which look alike, it was the location of Beaumaris in relation to Great Orme that made it my first choice. I checked also on Google Earth and the car park seems to be in the correct place as well Edited by: rustyruth at:7th May 2013 18:17 |
