I was just reading this interesting article online.

I think I will add this to my 'places to visit'.

I see there are no pictures from Northchurch yet. Who will be the first? Me, or will someone on POE beat me to it?

It's sad to hear of kids left stranded, but I know it happens and always has. I use to talk to "Dove" over in earthboppin...she says she was made to grow up on her own, lived off the forrest lands in North Carolina. Always said she was part Native American from the "Hill" Country..smart though...she talked hillbilly but wasn't really once you got to know her. We use to exchange things..around Christmas time. I'd send her off an box of books I'd read during the year, Christmas decorations I'd made or collected...always an jar of local Blueberry Jam..puzzles...she sent me back an picture of her
homemade" Christmas tree from all the decorations. Baby jars with candle votives in them hanging on wire to string on the tree and light...paper snowflakes that sparkled...wodden beaded strands, we had it it loaded down with stuff..it was gorgeous after an couple of years.....People made it hard for us to talk over there...when they gave us an virus..she left her own way and haven't heard from her since. She said they were to mean. Use to have an facebook page...Malinda was her first name..but she always went by Dove...Sherill was her married name. She sent me little things, including some kind of an pod seed necklace...poems...Blue bonnet Sue craftwork. Her kids were fairly popular at one time, had thier own band, and were on line also.  I guess better known in Germany then over here. They were playing "gigs" along the resorts in North Carolina...she sent me pictures of them some times...and pretty scenery seasonal pictures..and all kinds of weird stuff on the net. Her pastor invited me back one time, said to come and see the church if we ever went back there. She said some people thought of her as an "witch" because she learned to live off the land. Doesn't surprise me these days. Knew an lot about wild herbals...Poke Salad...taking care of animals...critters. They nessed up my e-mail back then so we couldn't get ahold of each other any more either. Time goes on you know. Kin dof like Lesie an I are now over there...I think we lost "Elk" in the conversation. He says he had an neighbor never knew how to cook an thing without "garlic'..use to laugh at that. Sad people are so busy these days, hard t keep in touch also...mail costs are very high It doesn't help us much. .You know recently I ran into an very lght weight card...and inside it had an very thin book..with an nice poem that someone was thinking of you this day....and in the very back it had an paper heart...in an little pocket...and you wrote down the your name and date, and state/country...and passed it on, just to see how long you could keep it circulating. It seemed an nice thing to do. I know it was in the "Goodwill"...because of the postage costs these days.
