Posts: Joined: 1st Jan 1970 | Back in 2008 the Panasonic G1, the first of the micro four thirds format cameras became available. I obtained one right at the start and sold my other film / digital cameras. I have used later µ4/3 models but have now returned to a G1 again. Being a big fan of these cameras I cannot imagine ever changing to another format. Do other members use micro four thirds and what do you think of them ? Not sure why the heading is showing with "A" in front of "µ4/3" ! Edited by: Mick Smith at:24th February 2013 12:26 |

I had an Olympus E410 and couple of lenses for a a year or so and never had any problems with it. Lovely little camera if anything too light for my liking . But the quality was well comparable to the the APSc sensors in the majority of 'enthusiast' branded cameras. In fact hard to tell looking at a print much difference between 4/3 and CMOS full frame

The micro 4/3 system from Olympus and Panasonic is doing well and many are smaller and lighter than the E series. The smallest models, GF5 / Pen's etc lack the EVF so you are stuck with a rear screen only. If they could get their act together and fit an EVF in a small body then it would be a winnner. If the GX2 has an EVF, if Panasonic will ever market it........we shall see !! |
