I've just been reading the BBC news on the Internet, a Police Sergeant has resigned over comments he made on Twitter about Mrs Thatchers death. What is it with these idiots and Twitter, are they so stupid as to think their comments won't come to light.

I totally agree with you Cath--not being one to get involved with these political issues it will be interesting to see the Headlines on Wednesday.

I have been truly shocked and horrified by the virulent villification of Margaret Thatcher by the seemingly young and ignorant members of the British population.  It seems to have been an excuse for wanton destruction and riots which have no relevance except for some excitement for the unemployed, benefit snatching, layabouts.

OK, rant over!

Spot on, Cathy. Most of these kids weren't even born when Maggie reined.

It makes me sick, and it makes me ashamed to be English.

Have some respect for the dead you silly little idots.

I had an e mail from Spain this morning by an ex-pat saying exactly the same as you Sue, absolute ignorant when they were not even born at the time.

Our eldest son is over visiting from Germany, he is an ex soldier and is involved with online forums for serving members of the armed forces, retired members etc.  He was telling me that every single member of the forums, young and old alike are appalled and disgusted at the behaviour of these ignorant young people.  Also at that stupid song from the Wizard of Oz that has got into the singles charts. I may be wrong but the singles charts are on Radio 1 and I think the listeners there are far too young to know or understand anything much about politics, past or present.

Know that lots of us appreciate what you stood for Maggie and what you did to help this Country through a difficult time, even if some didn't understand the reasons why. Pity you weren't in charge now!

RIP Maggie

OK, a certain amount of faith has been restored in the general decency and respect of the British Public after reading of today's funeral service and procession.  I am so glad it wasn't marred by rotten behaviour, protests or ignorant and violent displays and that no nasty incidents occurred.

Now I hope her memory and legacy will be restored or at least valued for the times in which her leadership took place!  R.I.P
