Me being curious again lol as l noticed that in different parts of Britian they call their evening meal by different names. The main meal of the day here is in the evening & we call it 'tea' . When l lived in Birmingham we always had our main meal at 12 oclock so was called 'dinner'. l much prefer that but even though hubby comes home for 'dinner' lm just too busy to prepare a heavy mid day meal, even though l think he would prefer that. So;'dinner' at 12 here is light, ie soup or salad. My daughter in France always cooks twice a day and their eveing meal at 8 oclock is always a 3 course meal with wine and they never put excess weight on , l cant work that out. Jackie |

Dinner to us is anytime midday to 1pm 'ish' and we have tea because we are so hungry having had dinner such a long time ago! If we plan not to have dinner, we have a lunch (meaning something lighter) maybe a sandwich or a snack. A snack might be a piece of fruit (SA of course) with biscuits, cake a bar of chocolate and a cup of tea or coffee. Supper to me is having something to eat at 8 or 9pm (Chinese most likely) the wrong time to eat apparently, but helped down with a golden nectar for safety reasons of course. Bet you wished you hadn't asked now eh? LOL |

So when lm eating my 'diiner' at 'tea' time, lm really eating my breakfast lol. |
