So why don't we 'actually' celebrate it, why don't we have this day as a Public Holiday? I can't think of a better reason for the English to have an official public holiday being awarded, can you? What do you think fellow POEsters? |

I love to celebrate St. George's Day and will do so today with English dinner and dessert. I agree with you, Ron, it SHOULD be a public holiday. Heaven's above! You should be here on July 4th. FIreworks, food, parades, and a national (is that the right word?) holiday. But like James says, people just can't be bothered. Too much work maybe. Or years of not honouring this as a day to celebrate binng turly English. |

There is a great deal of enthusiasm and passion of their history and heritage, is a little more needed this side of the Tamar? |
