Maybe the Americans should consider their influence on how the Royal Family is today thanks to a young lady from Baltimore who had misguided aspirations of becoming a queen. When the Queen's uncle EDward VIII married Wallis Simpson and thence his abdication, the Queen's father, George VI became King making his daughter Elizabeth, next inline to the throne after this unusual turn of events. When George becomes King, rather than King of England--this title last held by William II I think--our friends commenting from the US might ponder the king's kingdom was united some 300 years ago, and the Union flag/jack's three colours might also give a clue that he won't be crowned as King of England---which disregards the rest of his kingdom. British Airways livery carries the same three colours by amazing co-incidence it seems. |
