The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have just announced that their son is to be called George Alexander Louis. He will be known as His Royal Highness Prince George of Cambridge, so there you have it members.

You're right Patrick; he did get a German name of George with King George I being German, not to mention Louis you opted for.

Maybe the Americans should consider their influence on how the Royal Family is today thanks to a young lady from Baltimore who had misguided aspirations of becoming a queen. When the Queen's uncle EDward VIII married Wallis Simpson and thence his abdication, the Queen's father, George VI became King making his daughter Elizabeth, next inline to the throne after this unusual turn of events.

When George becomes King, rather than King of England--this title last held by William II I think--our friends commenting from the US might ponder the king's kingdom was united some 300 years ago, and the Union flag/jack's three colours might also give a clue that he won't be crowned as King of England---which disregards the rest of his kingdom. British Airways livery carries the same three colours by amazing co-incidence it seems.

The post above was from me typing too slow and pondering too long.

i've just had friends in the US asking what George's last name is? For those not quite sure, the royal family's surname is Windsor, or more exactly, Mountbatten-Windsor as George's birth certificate will state.
