Fantastic news that the Church will compete with a Company called 'Wonga' who lend money to those who can least afford to repay it. Even more so when you learn that 'Wonga' charge something in excess of 1000% interest, and they are not alone!

Congratulations are in order here, what say you members?

I say "kick their butts"...people are so desparate for help these days and the most needy is slowly becoming the middle income European young or older ancestors these days.  One's making  under $50,000.

No we should thank the footballer Papiss Ciisse the Newcastle United footballer, who refused to wear the shirt with the Wonga logo, then the church got involved.

So what have people got to say about football now?

1000% interest, Wonga deserve to be put out of business, that's appalling.

I agree Ron, well done to the Church of England, I heard their Credit Union plans on the news.

Didn't know about the footballer Mike, that's interesting, and good on him, never heard of him but well done.

Through negotiations now, I think he is going to wear the shirt with the logo, but at least he got the ball rolling

The best of it is, it has just been announced that the Church was also indirectly funding 'Wonga'. Can you believe that?

My understandiing is that urgent talks are under way!

Crazy idea! What happens if the borrower defaults on the church loan ? Will the Bishop send the Vicar and the choir boys round to break your legs ?
