Ha, what a joke! All they are doing is helping themselves to a handsome increase in profits at our expense, because they have kept the price the same, cheeky b......ds. I say stop buying them, then see who rules what we consume. See http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2524032/Mars-Snickers-chocolate-bars-shrink-size-price-stays-same.html What say you members, will you stop buying them in protest? |

If they make them smaller still they will be only bite sized. |

Do the manufacturers think that we really are that stupid? Protest the only way you can, don't buy them! The manufacturers are no better than the cheating banks. |

Its not so much that they 'think' we're stupid, Ron, more like they know some of us (as in the younger generation) are stupid. Well, not stupid, but unaware of the tricks of buisness. You should see the loo rolls over here in the states. There are less on the roll and they are narrower, swimming on the roll holder, but my oh my, the price is still way too high. Yes, I would stop buying the sweets, as there are more out there from companies for now. No doiubt all will jump on the band wagon.

But. the Le Max collection I buy at Christmas...the general merchandise isn't as impressive as it use to be...more like it's mass manufactured..and yes, the price is the same...with my older set, I can no longer buy replacement people...as the new stuff is also made smaller. The figures are for the most part featureless in expression and not as well made. Your not talking cheap cermamics here...most of the buildings start at $100 dollars...and they also no longer make trees that light up. You think the candy is bad...how about an bag of cereal snack mix for 9 dollars......looks like an small potato chip bag. They also fixed things so you can't make it yourself for less money either. Your right,,,,go without it all together is your only options these days. It really drags any Holiday down to the medieval days and then some, though they still had better quality for the price back then. you talk about toliet papaer...how about things like the alumium foil..and the ornament hooks are so thin they look like string One reason the Goodwill is doing an full business at thier stores with the old stuff discarded throughout the year. If you can "Paint" you can make your christmas village out of painted ordinary rocks...then buy the figurerines.... if you can find any decent ones...and it looks somewhat presentable. We use to call that "country" crafts. They showed last night on the mega decorated outside light homes on TV, how many of the people are reduced to making thier own lawn ornaments that light up also...using "cone shapes" with garland wrapped around them and then lights for an driveway length of small christmas trees Some people used them tied down to the tops of their house roofs also after decorating them. The cost was very little in comparison to buying them already made. The idea that took my eye this year has got to be the gal that glued mylar ballons together after blowing them up...and her ceiing had small wood boards going in the square pattern....she then floated the mylar ballons up the the ceiling and they were kept in place by the small side boards on the ceiling for an "M and M" candy theme...the rest was white garland with copper paint and Gold ornaments on it and the tree was made in cupcake styles with real "M and M" candies on them and hung on the tree. White clear mini lights. Then her table with the real food was various candy people figurines and cup cakes and goodies in all kinds of colors. Her crowning jewel to all this was an copper colored disco ball in the center that played Christmas music. While we are at it....an boat in Florida with " tip out" deck ...made the floor on it 22 feet wideacross, the front lounge tipped up to reveal an full bar and grill/drink area..refrigerator below. Entire thing had an wrap around UV protection weather proof window if needed also, with an over hang aobve for windy weather. One million dollars. An house boat with 10 state rooms, four level...drive up jet ski pad..it sets on Lake Powell...full rec room on the third level...open sided walls for fresh air...full dining room and kitchen on the second floor Luxury like you couldn't believe...full bathrooms throughout also...with jacuzzi hot tubs. .Firepalces and wide screen tv sets and media centers. Folded down this was escorted down the freeway, as it took up three lanes. Not to say that the rig that tpulled it also lowered if all if needed so it could go under low bridges. It was some 3 million. Then the house in Chatanooga, Tennessee that was made like an western house in Wyoming...with 30 foot celings, lots of glass windows...all rock and wood interior...and 27,000 square feet...antler chandliers...real fossils enbeded in the flooring. Huge massive logs for much of it. It was4 million and overlooked an golf course not to far away...huge pool also..it was 14 bedrooms with bathroom in each room and three more in the house and complete outside bath and entertainemt area with bar, including an 50 person music Pavilion for "live" musice concerts. I won't go into the motor home as of yet. . |

For example we ask everybody via the powerful internet NOT to buy Mars and/or Snickers for a couple of months, they would soon bring the prices down, or they would be out of business! Same with all products, where it's obvious that the manufacturers are having us over, collate the items via one central point and wham! |
