We can each choose a few charities to give to. Lately, representatives of charities have been attending expensive seminars to learn how to extract more money from the public because they haven't raised enough money. There are so many charities there is not enough money to go around. A community without charity is one without a conscience. There are thousands of charities. They took a hammering in the economic slowdown and falling values in their investment funds. If you donate to a charity over the phone, your name will go on a list and a telemarketer will call you over and over.

They are in the plight of many animals also dying off in massive amounts these days. How do you know that Shirley, or are you just accepting what you are being told, by he who would have your false teeth away if you opened your mouth long enough? The CEO's of some of these charity's are on £160k per annum according to a post from Edward recently. I wonder how much they give, or if they even consider making a donation to a different charity? As for the animals and birds, surveys that were produced whilst I was offering Pest Control Services showed that despite 'man' killing 3000 pigeons around a dock area, the numbers were back up to the same level withing 3 years, and rabbits for example, will abort their young if there is not enough food to sustain the population in any given area. Populations of various Countries around the world have nothing better to do with their time apart from what comes naturally, so as it's Christmas and time for goodwill towards all men, I think we need to start handing out nut cutters or crackers and then stay away from lands far away with our cameras! |

Another one today that I haven't seen before, that was about 2 minutes in length! So how much did that cost to prepare and broadcast, because they are never a one off are they? It'll be hundreds of thousands of pounds for sure! Maybe they have already got more money than they sensibly know what to do with? I say don't send them anything, most of them are no better than parasites! Keep your money (that most of us haven't got anyway) in your pockets. |

Nothing has changed in Africa, nor I suspect will it ever. The one charity I have used the services of is the RNLI, I was on a fishing trip off Whitby around 10 years ago, the sea was not at it's friendliest. All was OK until the boats engine packed up, after several failed attempts by the skipper to get it going the RNLI were called to tow us back to harbour. Very grateful we all were too. Its most unpleasant rolling around on a bumpy North Sea, having no control over anything with fading light. |

The recent disaster in the Philippines 50.000 pounds was sent the same week Masonic Charities are the second largest charity after the national lottery. We just dont look after our own as many people think that what we are all about. This week in Spain three Lodges have raised €850 for the Children of the City I visited this complex last week the complex is run by the state, abused children are placed in care at this home from 3 years old up to 18 years the children receive €140 each per year for clothing so we have decided to buy them night wear this year. One of the officials showed us round the complex it was immaculate we took 30 bags of clothing to be sorted for distribution to parents and children. I guarantee that anyone seeing a room of 20 children with ages of 3 and 4 with happy smiling faces waving to you and saying hello in another language it is not possible to feel sorry for them they deserve our help its not thier fault that they in this predicament. As you can see POE members I am heavly involved in charity no one gets paid it all done free

Over the years I have the window smacked in twice and the door once and on every occasion all the towrags wanted was the charity boxes ( plus of course the chaos and disruption and me getting dragged out in the small hours ). Another sign of the times. |
