Don't try to buy alcohol at M & S

I had a similar occurrence some time ago James but the other way round. I had got to the checkout and the till lady politely pointed out the sign that said 'This Till is now Closed' so no problem I went to the next one. Only to see someone move the aforementioned sign and put their items on the conveyor. I went upto the  woman with the trolley and said words to the effect of 'Can't you read' to which the till operator said 'It's Ok she's only got a few items!!!!! Needless to say the customer service go my attention as well that day. Just the same as people putting 15 items through a 10 item or less till

Yes Dave i see what you mean there -but its the attitude of these people who should not be employed in case these situations occur--another gripe i have is when there is a queue and another till is opened and the customers behind jump in before you can turn your trolley round to use that till--bad training on the employees part.

Totally agree with you James and that last point in particular, that always bugs me. I was brought to be polite and courteous and automatically in that situation offer the person in front of me the choice?? Yes it is all down to training but when you see the ages of some of the managers and supervisors yiu realise that we have no chance whatsoever

I'd just like to get through the checkout with out all the inane jabbering, How's your day been so far ? What are you doing the rest of the day ? Are you doing anything fun today ? Do you need a hand with your packing ? Do you need a bag ? No just get on with scanning my one item so I can but it in the bag that you can clearly see in my hand, and I don't want to discuss my plans with you or anyone else in this supermarket thank you
