Posts: Joined: 1st Jan 1970 | editPosted at 20:53 on 22nd January 2014 Good evening..gosh, day is just beginning here, though sissy just walked through the door from school again...I've been observing her here lately, something seems wrong..she is very sullen and quiet and wants to sleep an lot. When you feel her head, she seems very warm also. Though the flu is going around, has recently.. last week killed 9 people in Oregon. She's not eating much either...not that she ever did. But she doesn't seem her ususal self. She basically comes in an takes an bath, and crawls under her electric blanket in her room and wants to sleep. Todays huge big front news story in the paper....$766 million in property tax breaks for Intel approved by Washinton county and Hillsboro are costing very school district.....get aload of this one....about 40 percent of local taxes go to schools, and of that 80 per cent goes to operating costs..but these schols districts are not going without funding...why?..because Intel's unpaid taxes were made up by state taxpayers of every school district in the state. All schools are given roughly at least equal funds to operate in the state...rather they pay their funding needs or not themselves through their property tax bases. That is also based according to the school size and what it's needs are. So West Portland's community spounting of an better place to live, are paid for by everyone in the state. Now you know why some of us are hard hit, when they "automatically" raise our property taxes as they did last year on us for $169.. property values increasing... when our pay checks have not, let alone us senior citizens with limited incomes. Kind of tricky thing to do. I would guess that "intel" is most likely threatening to leave..like of blackmail style if they don't get what they want for tax breaks, making the community suffer for lack of jobs. In short "whoring" out thier area... and of course... others for an profit making these days of economic crisis. Which we are all suffering from in ways. But to thdir defence...the schools have NEVER been able to stay on budget...why?..they refuse to change their system. They rely on the citzenry when it hasn't got funds to help them. They did not go into profit making ventures themselves in the past to "make money"...something they have been changing in state Government here lately also. There is something "weird" about this company anyway...and I wonder if they are doing "drugs" of some kind on the side line. Strange as that is to say. Something people along the west coast are being subjected to through their Governments is the selling of Marijuana here lately. states feel if they condone it, it will help raised their revenues. But then they fight over the possible drug abuses also and how to deal with them. I still feel and society "drugged" reguardless of how it's being done, is an socalled "Sick Society" but they all seem to buy into it these days looking for an "Profit" to deal with today's economy. I can't understand why toe companies don't have the kind of true leadership needed to run anything any more...and that's the basic problem. You have two kinds of people sucking off the Government..one is the so called "poor" people...the other is the large corporations. Giving into the car Indiustry did not save Detroit They refused to change thier system and get into cheap electric cars...recycle these cars about every other year or so and come out ahead by everyone for doing that. That is what built the car industry in it's forming years. Figure top dollar car payments of $100 an month and at most three to five years paying for them and that is about what an ormal family can comfortably pay. Not $35,000 for an truck and $20,000 for an car with high sky prices for galsoline and car insurance. they claimed last night on the radio..that computer web sites are already "diseased" and dying...mainly because they are not centered on an constant change of "subject" to keep people interested in coming back into them...they cited the worse wassites like My space and Facebook. Those whom had invested stock in them may find the future "bleak" if they don' t change their style also.pay outs of the highest monetary funds...and general lack of "change" due to I would assume by an few tied economically with special interest groups also. There is no stumulus actions of survival for the average citzen to survive either independently economically. production tiffany lamp across the floor and then stomp on it. It could of been resold for out on the patio as an night light in the garden...but not now. They took an wall length cupboard in an vintage house....and tore it out...to remodel a kitchen...but the wall length cupboard of real wood and decorated wood with glass insets...was destroyed...they took an double pane of the glass and made an floor standing kind of table from it. It was an beautiful piece of wood carpentry. Newly built I'd say in the range of $10,000. So Ireally wonder if the need to "Make money" is justified sometimes. It is why people were moving up here from California in years past..I was told because the corporations coming in are buying out entire old nieghborhoods...to tear down the houses and build new ones...and your forced ot buy them new and get in debt... even if you can't afford them, to have an place to live. Your only other option..leave the area....and so there is an class distinction going on between the have's and have not's in money. All these new houses, have such little yards, you can barely tell the difference between houses, row condo's and aparartments " miles" long in some cases....they all share, reguardless of what they are...two feet walk ways between them in property lines. Very few of them support room enough to even grow an few hanging tomato plants to feed oneself...which helps to create grocery store monopolies in pricing also..... So goes the merry months of "starting" January. These are issues that the ones that have the ability to do something about it seem to wear blinders on their eyes and turn their backs away from the truth in ways...they are selling us down the drain...so as to say. |

But it doesn't change things.... What is..is...and it's undesirable thinking by others to let it stay alive....and change..if only moderately even. |

My hubby thinks its the early hours she has to get up to catch her school bus...it's an daily 8 mile ride each way...though her mother is up with her...to start her day also..she's another one will sleep to noon on any day off.. She felt like she had an fever when I checked on her.. and she said she felt like she had an touch of an flu bug of some kind...I gave her some non-asprin fever reducer. She came in, took an bath and went to her bedroon here at my house and slept until grandpa came home from work..I would guess some five hours or so.. On the way home we bought her an bite to eat... an big taco and mexi-fries and coke...that's what she wanted going through town. Her puppy dog was glad to see her though. She seemed better tonight for all the sleeping. I noticed at one time she came out skipping down the hallway like she ususally does. It's hard telling what hours she's been keeping...she's been known to stay up most the night also on her lap top, Iphone and what not else. |

One reason why we have so many places to sleep here in the house. I can put up about about nine people before I start dragging out the blow up air mattresses and lay them down before the fireplace or wood stove downstairs...in front of TV sets to watch going to sleep. Though my neice caught me off guard couple of years ago...I'd already had an house full for several days. I kind of felt bad about it...maybe some day I can make it up with her. that was the Christmas the pan with the grease blew up in my face, I was burnt all over on the top of me. I couldn't barely stand to lay down, let alone be an hostest for all the burns on me. That's when all the Red Cross training comes into play. You would never know it ever happened to see me now. Glad to hear your doing better also. Sissy has grown up being an medical room human " sacrific" in her life so far...it would be nice if it stopped. |

I'll have a look in Sainsburys on Sunday, we have to spend £40 in store to get a 12 pence a litre of diesel coupon. Would be ideal if they had an offer on Grouse (or similar) too |
