The only other rival to Acorn I can think of in the UK in the early 80's would be Sinclair and the ZX Spectrum.

well worked out between you it was the zx81 which to my knowledge was my first computer after an atari games console and yes John it was made by Timex

Oh the pain of programming a game to realise you missed a line out

Had to copy it out of a book Rusty from what I can remember

My god Tandy I forgot about that shop I had 1 of them make your own radios from there lol 

And a free frisbee(that was a random thought)

John this wouldn't be 1 of the reservoirs either ladybower or derwent would it and the sacrifice being 2 villages lost under them so the dambusters could practice their bomb runs

 

After reading the question properly I'll say Ladybower reservoir (the other 2 Howden and Derwent must have already been there)

The Lancaster did a flypast of the dams last may to commemorate the 70 yrs of dambusters
