Hi all, been a reasonble day here, even though a lot of of was spent clearing out the roof ..... 3 Christmas trees ! ! ! ! Couple of large boxes with about 20 slide cases each with capacity of 200 slides?? So a lot there to look through when I get sorted. Not to mention all sorts of other rubbish. Just about to check my lottery tickets in the hope that POE might benefit..... Can but hope

alignment in an spillway near the town of Vantage, on the Wanapum Dam. The water levels along the 8, 320 foot dam are being taken down 3 feet per day to lessen the stress and reduce the pressure on the dam...and to better investigate what is going on, flood alerts have been issue for Grant County because of this water release and poses no immediate threat to the public safety or generating capacity for the dam at this time. The Federal Regulatory Commision were on site to evaluate what do do next.

We cross this bridge going to Wenatchee...and let me tell you where it sits is amoung high bluffs on each side of the River, but by the time 84 Freeway in Oregon and into Portland this thing  breaking would really play "hell" in the area...it's water capacity is most likely where it's at four to five times that of the Columbia River in Portland and it has two more dams to go through getting into Portland...and would back up major rivers around my area. I'm glad I have an boat out front...and hope to never have to use it... dealing with disaster. You actually drive on top of the river on sections of freeway on the other side of The Dalles, Oregon you know. Which leaves me squimish even on the best of calm days at times. Possibly could wipe out about 2 million people and do Billions of dollars in disaster...and generally close down the whole state.Other then that, how's things going your way?

I must comment that "British History on LIne" is something if I had the money extra, I wouldn't mind donating to..besides POE, Ryan and JOB. They are "invaluable" in my work with their history...I best go and start getting things ready to be copied off. From Jesus, through history of Scotland/Ireland/Brtiain/France/Germany to  an touch of Spain and Jamacia...Colonial America and to this side of the USA...from Jesus to today...I conclude...the work is done..if but very briefly on the family lineages. Some of it needs to be better done perhaps, but I've done my best without writing an novel. Tired.

Top part of my post is missing...I was talking about them findiing an 2 inch 65 foot crack in the dam on the Columbia River at Vantage, Washington recently (Thursday).  It's an huge dam. (NBC News has released it on National news).

If somebody doesn't soon help by way of a donation, there will be no more POE...invaluable or not!

Afternoon everyone, it's a bit dull here at the moment. I bet you'll find stuff in your shed Dave that you haven't seen in years, or forgotten you had. Be nice if you could find some stuff to sell to keep POE afloat.

While I was doing this geneaology work, I came across the Wheatley's twice...but I never left the Middleton in England to all the way through to Oregon in nearly every place I went for some reason...for hundreds of years.  I knew they had married into my mother's Larkins side on the East coast, but so have the Prescotts, the Rockfellers, Rev. Samuel McAdoo, and several others. That's been pretty much their history also, they are hidden by others in name...such as the Read kinship.

Ron, I watched an really good site go down the tube...because the web master listened to others on how to do things. I am one of the few people that's still loyal to it. He got an person in the was an trouble maker, talked the web master to making us all register, which upped his prices...as it was the thing to do back then...after he did that...they all reformed or grouped together into another web site.  I have always been told that, there are a few good souls paying the way for everyone by web masters...from bit site to the small ones...it is kind of an shame in ways. I never went into Facebook or Twitter, one is "garbage talk" most the time..the other is  the news all over again. to make money, you have to give others soemthing they need at an low price...one reason the grocery stores do so well..and the bigger they are,..the better they do often. Maybe you should look into POE as an "Bit coin" to buy into. I don' t know all th eparticulars on them but pretty much if you buy into it with cash, you own part of it....Or...don't go down...take an on-line "rest" twice an week in posting.... if the going gets rough financially.

POE isn't listening to a webmaster - Chris and Sarah make the decisions Shirley.

And they haven't 'upped' the prices, the prices were non existant to start with apart from membership and that is still too cheap for what the member gets in my opinion, but hey it's not my business and to a large extent you the members guide Chris and Sarah with valuable and very sensible suggestions and feedback.

You refer to 'garbage' sites and I totally agree, so why when you get a decent site like POE that won't allow such nonsense, why isn't it supported financially? Maybe we need to start a funding campaign for POE on one of the these garbage sites, but what do you say...."We need money to support a really decent site that doesn't allow swearing etc?"

I doubt we would get any response whatsoever, whereas if POE was controversial it would be inundated and drowning in cash.

There are still lots of POE members who have suddenly gone very quiet on this subject not even bothering to comment and not donating. We can see who logs in.

Lets face it were not asking for very much are we, just a small donation will help......please!
