Good evening everyone. It's always a nervous time waiting for new neighbours. We've had several moves at one side but not the other, we've always been very lucky. The young couple that are here now were at school with our girls, they are nice and quiet (unlike our girls) so that suits us Smile

A house up the street from us is for sale..nice house, in ground swimming pool..totally fixed up..they want $307.000 dollars for it andthat's not to bad an price considering it over all.  I was talking ot the saleman last weekend when he had open house..but the paper says it's an five bedroom, and I never saw that many..maybe they figure you can make into that many, o rthe garage was two more bedrooms...darin @ vintage.property.com...it's on the end of 27th Street...says it has 2,326 SF...property taxes, $3,475...they remodeled it some time back and made half the existing back bedroom into an walk in closet and then build on the end of the house to make that bedroom an huge master bedroom..all the flooring except for the living room is new wood floors. Says it has 3 baths, and I didn't see that many of them either. RV Parking on the side of the house. It's bigger then my 2-story house.  Not by an largeamount, but a little...maybe in the closet. Mine was an walk in to begin with, but an smaller one.  Darin Provost is the real estate broker. It belonged to an retired couple to begin with. But it's in an area of one story houses. Where down here we have two story's and out behind us. I think they should alllow the one story houses to build on to the tops if their houses with kind of like "greenhouse" rooms, with fireplaces at the end of them. They'd probably sell them better because of the inside advantage for little kids to use an indoor room over winter to play in. It's true our bedrooms are not the largest. Alot of people rent out "storage" elsewhere to use their garages for more room. Good luck on selling your house Ruth.

I just got back from my walk at the golf course...but it didn't end in an "sweat" like it ususally does, so don't know if I'll lose as much weight

The firewood trek I made an picnic lunch for yesterday sounds like it sizzled out also...down to no kids and four people...from an start of I think around 13 parents/kids. So I guess you know, I send hubby out with an lot of food and have more here, she said to bring it out to thier house...after they returned. I'm done Christmas shopping for two people and really in ways for the family outting. I was only getting the grandkids some token gifts this year...adults get the outting for an weekend....along with hubby and I. So it should beeasy doing this year. I go for now...sunny with high clouds all this week, and an typhoon hitting Japan about now..we could use the rain but not the wind...but everythign goes "north" any more...and it's an really weird an unusal pacific coast weather pattern we never had before when they started the chemtrailing bit. That has the whole country screwed up because our weather currents come from the west and travel to the east..with small dips from the south and northnow and then, but not to far inland. This is why California is in an severe drought..Oregon kind of so-so on that an Washingtons State and Canada drowing most the time with rain. then the jet stream goes into canada an comes back down for massive snowfall in the central US over winter...and heads east to Massacusetts and New England to create havoc. These weather modifications fellas don't know diddy squat what "normal" is most the time. If california don' tget more rain the people are going to have to move out of it for lack of drinking water. Kind of like the South American Indians in ages past..... that no one knows what happened to them. I go for now, I need an box for stuff and I need some sacks for Christmas items.  Talk later on...

I'm back, and so is hubby... with about two cords of wood, though his permit is good for three more cords..we also have trees to cut down in the yard. First I have to afford someone to come in and do it. I feel exceptionately tired tonight and just binged out on danish pastry and fresh icy cold milk. Not to bad, but takes care of tomarrow's food choices.I'm thinking of reading another book..or starting it tonight.

Wow, you have to get a permit to take and/or cut down trees Shirley?

Is that cutting down trees specifically on your own land, or is that just 'collecting' dead wood or what?

Depends on what kind of wood, to pick up dead branches no problem, but to use an chain saw for firewood, best  to have the wodd permit first. Then there's no second guessing. One year they had an wind storm over at the coast and an flood...and the trees that fell looked like someone had dumped open an large box of match sticks on the ground from all the trees every which away, it cost the state less to let people come in an clear out the trees themselves. for th emost part they letthe flood ravaged people have first pick at it, because many of them were out of city services as yet in the rural areas of the county..but hadwood stoves to heat with.  That was the year my son worked for his boss and other guys in hauling " given" furniture to flood victims. His gas and his workers pay checks were tax deductible as was the furniture company for the furniture and appliances...so everyone helping each other got something for the effort.  Kind of like when Tillamook Cheese factory gives the state  food stamp program surplus cheese to hand out to the low income or unemployed. Walmart did for eastern Oregon and for western Oregon and SW Washington state...so many unemployed that they had thier own program of giving them free credit to eat on, and took the food off their corporate profit as an "gift" to others. As long as they keep the records, they are allowed to do this. It kept their stores from going oout of business and the people from going hungry. One reason the schools started free breakfasst and lunch programs for the kids also...that includes when they are out of school over summer vacation also.  We still have not enough wood to heat this house with over winter..but we have enough to maybe make it through losing our electricity should we have an storm outtage...which we generally do for all the years I've lived here. You learn real fast to have an pantry on hand in the "country" for emergency living, lights and an way to heat the house...and if your lucky bags of ice for the freezer.  that is why I buy those turkey's and hams on sale also...I give them as gifts, and if frozen and there's an outage..one of them can be cooked on the propane BBQ grill out back and feed many for several days at a time. It's gettign harder for me to do sometimes, but I think the family kind of looks forward to getting them for Thanksgiving and Christmas now as gifts. My nieghbor brought me over one last year...I thought it was nice of her to think of us, but she knows I generally do this and not many people ever give me anything. My sister on state assistence and medicaresure can't, the kids are struggling through college debts and lack of hours working sometimes, and my brother was off work last year due to the truck accident he was in back east..where they got rear-end on the freeway and "jack-knifed" in the road. He and his buddy got sent to the hospital for observation..he just barely made it in home in time for Christmas Day. He works for an mail truck..Federal Express. Christmas is an busy time for him in dleivering packages. He got thrown out from the sleeper bed and into the chairs up front, I take it thier truck may of turned on it's side also... and has been having neck problems, he had some surgery on it last year...was off work, so he enjoyed this food also...until then he had never eaten an "Spiral Ham" of all things. Walmart helped me last year with the low prices to make it happen also. I went to Winco and they were completely out of the ones they put on sale last year.

Hubby done unloading the wood, and took off for some more out at the kids' house, they are suppose to deliver my grandson, whom stayed overnight with the Scout master's grandkids...and then we will join them out there, if hubby not back here...but the grandson goes to his house before the end of the day sometime. I go for now. I have the rest of my apples to give the kids today...it's about time they got eaten up or cooked into chunky applesauce I do suppose.
