Needless to say Pat, we at POE also hope things go well for Bern and wish for a speedy recovery.

I note also that you guys n gals are mentioning some good pubs, services here and there so don't forget to name them and/or add your comments to the POE 'Good and Bad Services' thread.

The zinc tablets took care of the sniffles...I'm resting and it sure does feel good to me, before those "movies" start in later this week.  The Gemini meteor shower starts tonight also. They say it should be an god one to see, though we have clouds moving in.

Ron, shouldn' t you be recommending places to usher in New year's Eve?...I've still got that one to resolve as hubby's birthday is the night prior...Dec. 30th. We have talked about going some where then, and we have talked about going somewhere over Valentine's Day and our 48th Wedding anniversay in February.   Yes, be sure and recommend some places I can go an visit on line to check them out. Heathman Hotel is kind of "British" iin Portland and has an excellent reputation for food/lodging....been in business for an long time.

Got an chance to see Prince George on Tv last night...he is just the cutest little kid. Looks like his daddy and mommy also, and both of them are very fair good looking young people also. They are moving out the Toy drive sales this morning to begin to distrubute them...and they have tons of toys this year...and whole room full of bikes...the Hell's Angels bought an whole store of bikes to distribute them also..most likely to the Indian Reservations...plus there's another one going on also...channel 8 Toy Drive. Individual organizations help also every year...like the Elks Lodge, Vet's Dept and so forth. So it looks like the kids shuold have plenty of toys. There is an happiness in the air because of them this morning...trucks and trucks of toys for little kids.

Anyway...am enjoying my reprieve to waste time for an day or so and relax. I watched the White House Christmas decorating show last night..this year's theme is "Winter Wonderland" ....got some hints on that aspect also...for easy decorating the trees outside...as well as inside. It seems this year it was the red birds at the store for their Christmas theme. I have one tucked between my singing snowmen. It reminds me of "Ruby bird" and he was the best talker in town. An great companion to me throughout the day also. I'd say..Good morning "Ruby" and he'd say''Love you...love you!....to me. Whistle at princess and chuckle at times. Typical "dirty ole bird" at times. He thought the parakeets in the cage next to him were his kids also.

I guess I go now and see what I can get myself into for the day...have an good one!

That sounds like a good way to pass a few hours. I can still remember the name of every person in my class at secondary school. I sometimes wonder where they all are now, there are a few I see who've stayed local to this area.

The truth is Shirley I wouldn't know where to start in recommending such events and so POE has provided a search facility for you to do exactly that.

Happy hunting my friend!
