Diana---I've always loved the Colonial/Georgian era whether it be history, architecture, furniture styles, and the New England States in particular, closely followed by the history of the Civil War, then the history of the West, and being brought up there, many of our trips out related to Western history in one way or another. A high school friend of mine was the great nephew of Ben Kilpatrick, aka The Tall Texan, who ran with The Wild Bunch gang of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, and shown in the infamous photo of them all sat next to Butch on his right and Sundance on his left. Sue H---a TV show a couple of years back did show a speeded up version of flying right 'round the British Isles. I think one of the loveliest coastlines--among several we have--is that of Dorset, though there are many others to choose from as well. Northumberland and Pembrokeshire also spring to mind, along with Cornwall and North Devon. |
