Hello Rose. I think that maybe Lynda meant that the neatly laid out ones in the grounds of big manor houses were for the rich.

As you say, there are many beautiful gardens in England, my own parents had the most wonderful rose garden at the front, and a great herb garden going out back of the house.

When I go over next, I wouldn't mind popping to the door of a home to ask permission to take a picture of their garden, I'm thinking on the whole, they would be rather chuffed.

Lyn, I have a garden and a mother-in-law!

No don't start cracking jokes about the mother-in-law because I have a soft spot for her really. It's just under the Willow tree near the river bank!

Ron, i was told, when you meet a girl that you like, go home with her to meet her mother. If she is nice, run off with her mother, why wait till she gets like that. If the mother is an old witch, do a runner from both of them. The girl will only grow up like her mother, and who wants that?
