I loved boating, life was slow and friendly on the river. How many car drivers do you see on the road who actually wave to you ....apart from people who are making rude signs!

I absolutely loved boating too. Mind you, mine was mainly cruising about at Spithead and the Solent, I never put her in a river.

I have never cruised the costal waters or the esturies. I should think it would be fun. The locks are the biggest problem on the rivers. they take up a lot of time and cause congestion during the summer months.

I don't remember Sue! I'll figure it out though (I'll cheat and look at the picture numbers). It might take a while though! Talking about boats and rivers, here's a lovely early picture I've found:-
