I am the first to agree that appreciation of an image is subjective so I wouldnt expect there to be agreement across the board and I certainly wouldnt support negative or distructive comments. What does everyone else think? |

I have to say that I comment on the pictures that I REALLY like, I only ever give 4 or 5 stars for that reason. I also have to admit though, I have missed so many of the new pictures lately, because I haven't logged on much, so I have a lot of catching up to do. As far as I'm concerned, photography is a lovely, relaxing art form that can be enjoyed by everyone.......but as our tastes all differ, not everyone will like the same picture(s). As far as tips go........practice makes perfect, especially with a digital camera where you can delete pictures and try different settings until your heart is content. There are plenty of sites where you can get your pictures critiqued, the problem with that is, again, no two people will agree entirely IMHO, so what, or whos, advice do you take? |

I just checked out your photos and I think they're pretty brilliant as is. I would never be able to give anyone advice on photography because I'm such an amateur. That's what's so nice about POE. You don't have to be a pro to be appreciated here.

What I am really looking for is suggestions along the lines of " nice pic but had you thought of a different crop" , " a bit under/over exposed for my taste",etc |

Regards Craig. p.s. They also run monthly Competitions. Hope this helps. |
