This one strikes me as quintessentially English.

I love that shot too - but I am confused POE - it was submitted by Bruslaw - Bruce who did his user intro recently - but it says picture by Slawek Staszczuk on the bottom - what is that all about? It there some mistake? Will e-mail Ron
Hi Stephanie and Barbara. Re the above post, he actually signed up as Slawek Staszczuk/Bruslaw (forgotten exactly what he did register) but then changed his name to Bruce. If you're reading this Bruce perhaps you will explain the story behind it for the members, although it doesn't matter if you prefer not to.

Thanks, Diana.  My hubby's in masonry, so we looked at a lot of stonework, and just marveled at it because it's so ancient.  Even in ruins, it's amazingly beautiful.  As for the photo, it was hopelessly overexposed, so I couldn't get the color right.  That's why it's B&W.  But I'm glad I'll be able to top up my POE next month so I don't have to keep scraping the bottom of the barrel for pictures to send in.

Speaking of B&W pics, here's an excellent one by Jason.  The clouds add a lot of motion and drama.

Ruth, I think architectural shots look better in black and white anyway. Just my personal preference!

That pic by Jason is great too...it's very foreboding in a good sort of way, and again, the black and white makes it. Laughing
