Chatsworth House, Derbyshire

I've been looking at picture of Chatsworth House this afternoon, after finding this picture.  This is just amazing, not just this big beautiful house, but the gardens around it also.  The color and clarity on this picture are just amazing, it just grabbed my eye as soon as I saw it, and I love the perspective of the bridge in the foreground and the house behind.  I have another one from somewhere on the grounds that I found that I'll post, a total contrast, in winter.  Be right back!

Chatsworth House & Gardens in winter

This is the second picture, from the grounds of Chatsworth House, which I love.  It's a total contrast to the other one, in my first post, but I love the winter trees, the mist, and looking down the long drive toward the urn (?) or whatever that is!  It looks like a wonderful place for a stroll.  I think Chatsworth House should be put on my list of places to visit someday.

Thank you to the gentlemen who took these pictures, they've very good, very inspiring!

I love this one. At this distance and at this angle they almost look real. Well done,  Peter.

Winchester

I formally proposed to my future wife near this spot in 1976. Shirley and I have been very happily married now for 32 years. I love Winchester, especially the River Itchen running by the old city walls. I spent some time teaching at Peter Symonds College, then a boys' grammar school, in 1974
